[ Alright, this is Kaneki's very first post ever. He never even used social media before, so this is all very awkward ]

Hello, I'm Kaneki Ken. I just came from the ocean- [ he used to be a squid, he supposes. Still is? He may be a big hung up on the whole thing because Kaneki is so tired of being transformed into things he never asked for ] Which means I'm new here.

I'm a warmblood. I was told that's rare, although I'm not entirely sure if it matters that much. [ "rare" does not mean "special". ] But if there are ways to help with this blood, I would like to. [ because oh boy, he will be doing some really gross things in order to survive and he wishes to make up for it, in a way ]

Anyway, back home I was training - a bit of self-defense. I was wondering it anyone would be willing to train with me a little and teach me what I'm missing. Specially since magic exists here. [ a pause. he really did say that with his own mouth, didn't? ]

Oh- and I'm wondering. Is coffee a thing here?

There was someone on the beach teaching self-defense. I suppose it's a good idea, all things considered. [He sounds...very dubious about that, mostly because he's extremely self-aware.]

I can't say whether it was magical defense, though.

Hm. This place seems a bit... [ dangerous. Terrifying? Horrible! ] difficult, so I think it's good to be prepared.

Though, I don't have any magic and my blood type doesn't give me anything like that, either.

"Dangerous" is a good adjective for this place. [A bit more flatly than he means, but what's the point of beating around the bush, right?] From what I've heard, even those who are Warmblood can obtain powers through...blood jewelry.

It's very valuable, apparently.

Yes. The blood of various Sleepers -- that's us, people from other worlds -- turns into jewelry and it's very valuable. [He raises and lowers both shoulders.] Or so I've read.

Perhaps hand-to-hand combat is less risky, all things considered, yes.

[Natsume lets out a huge sigh of -- relief?] Me neither. People here seem to find that...strange. If you aren't interested in blood magic, I mean.

Short of staying in your home at all times and never going out, yes. [Can you guess what option he's taken?]

Honestly, I don't fully understand everything that happens here, honestly. [ not yet ] The whole thing with blood is so... strange. [ somewhat gross too ]

As tempting as staying at home is, I don't even have a proper home here...

In all fairness, I don't think any of us do. [He grimaces a little, apologetic.] But at least you aren't alone in things? If that's any comfort?

Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I'm in one of the apartments in Gaze. It's... [Tiny. Cramped. Like a dorm room.] ...adequate.

[ it is a comfort. Kaneki doesn't want to say it like that because he doesn't gain any happiness from others suffering, but deep inside it is a comfort, even if bittersweet.

but when the other mentions the house, Kaneki quickly shakes his head ] N-no, I also found a house! I just mean... it's a strange ceiling, I can't really.. recognize it as mine...?

It...doesn't, no, but if the ceiling is...strange then you probably shouldn't live there? It might not be up to code.
