[ Alright, this is Kaneki's very first post ever. He never even used social media before, so this is all very awkward ]

Hello, I'm Kaneki Ken. I just came from the ocean- [ he used to be a squid, he supposes. Still is? He may be a big hung up on the whole thing because Kaneki is so tired of being transformed into things he never asked for ] Which means I'm new here.

I'm a warmblood. I was told that's rare, although I'm not entirely sure if it matters that much. [ "rare" does not mean "special". ] But if there are ways to help with this blood, I would like to. [ because oh boy, he will be doing some really gross things in order to survive and he wishes to make up for it, in a way ]

Anyway, back home I was training - a bit of self-defense. I was wondering it anyone would be willing to train with me a little and teach me what I'm missing. Specially since magic exists here. [ a pause. he really did say that with his own mouth, didn't? ]

Oh- and I'm wondering. Is coffee a thing here?

Anyway, thank you for your time.

[ She pauses.

It's hard to tell if Chizuru is just thinking about what he's saying in general, or if she's zooming in here on the fact that he pretty much left himself out of what he was saying there just now..

How about you, Kaneki-san? Would that make you happy as well?

[ kaneki blinks.

Him?

Oh right-- Kaneki smiles a little after, quickly shaking his head afterwards ] Well, I don't wish to bother you, Chizuru-san.

It's not a bother at all!

[ In fact, her tone and face seem to kind of light up as she's saying that. Maybe Chizuru is just feeling happy that she's found something very practical she can do in this moment.. ]

I really like cooking for other people, you know? So I'd gladly share a meal with you!

[ sadly, kaneki can't really eat. Not that he will tell her that, but he does feel bad for lying to her. Chizuru seems like a nice person, and it's cruel of him to deceive her, he thinks ]

T-thank you, Chizuru-san. [ he smiles. Right. ]I-- would love to try your food sometime.

[ She giggles. ]

Thank you so much! [ Indeed, she has absolutely no idea about his condition. Instead she just seems very genuinely happy to have found a way in which she thinks she can help him..

.. even though it's actually no help at all. ]

I'll send you my address, so please feel free to come over for a meal at any time! Or if you send me yours, I can bring a meal towards you.. either is fine with me! Whichever is most convenient for you is fine to me too.

[ oh no, she really is going out of her way for him. kaneki feels bad about it, that was never the plan. But it's not like he can just tell her he eats nothing like that.

But she looks so happy to help... now Kaneki knows how Touka-chan felt whenever her friend Yoriko cooked for her. ]

I can pick them up, I feel like you are already going out of your way for me. [ it's so true ] Though, I also work at the library, so if you'd prefer to meet there that is fine too. [ in case she'd rather not share her home address so easily ]

Ah.. well, I can bring it to you at the library!

[ Chizuru doesn't even manage to realise that he's saying that for her sake - that he's giving her a shot to not reveal her address in front of someone she's only just yet.

Chizuru is just naive like that, after all.

No, instead she figures it's probably more convenient for him, so then he won't have to go out of his way to where she lives.. ]

That's no problem for me. Please look forward to it, sometime during the upcoming few days..!

[ he still isn't sure what he will do about the actual food. But!!! She is very sweet and kind and Kaneki truly wishes he could eat like a normal person. ]

Yes, of course. let me know when it suits you. I will meet you by the library. [ and - ] Uhm, I'm not sure how long you have been here, Chizuru-san, but we could talk a bit if you'd like? [ making friends, this is what Kaneki is trying to do ]

[ Look at Kaneki.. being so brave. Making friends!

Of course that's something she'd like to do too though. It makes her look surprised for a moment, but it's just the tiniest moment before she instead smiles. ]

Yes! I would like that.

[ Especially since she never really had the chance to sit down and talk with anyone outside of the men of the Shinsengumi back home.. ]

I mean, I haven't been here for very long, so I don't know if I could tell you many useful things.. but I don't mind talking about anything.

[ indeed, he is being very bold!!

kaneki's smile grows wider when she accepts his offer. ]

Well, just about anything is fine too. We all came from many different places, right? And there is even aliens in this place, so- I think we won't get bored.

Okay. [ It seems like his mood is infectuous over here. Chizuru didn't expect to get this drawn in, but.. well, he's smiling like that, and it makes her pretty excited to be able to make someone this happy by just a promise to visit them and talk with them. ]

I'll make sure to come prepared with tons of stories then.

[ She's come across enough in this place already so far, after all.. ]

I can't wait to hear them.
