[a girl, straight backed and very poised, wearing a fashionable black dress with ravens swooping down over the shoulders to meet under her high narrow neckline, just wide enough to frame the black buckle of her necklace with a silver needle hanging down. her hair is dark and braided tightly back. it's hard to tell in the lighting if it's brown or red. there is what appears to be a sled dog sitting at her feet in a fashionable matching collar.
the parlor she sits in is a bit chintzy, with elaborate wallpaper. weirwood leaves hang incongruously overhead.
she looks and acts as if she's watched several tutorials on setting up your own youtube videos. her smile is practiced but not unkind.]
Hallo, I'm called Alayne Stone. This is Lady. [she pets her canine companion on the head.] Our gracious hosts have helped me find lodgings in Cellar Door, and work making clothes for the Night Walkers here. I would like to make clothes for all of you as well, but I'm afraid I don't have the supplies. Still, if you bring me good cloth and leather, I would be glad to make you what you want. I can make leather shirts, and padding, for those who have need of armor.
You might ask the lantern imps to bring you to the Rookery. If you find yourself in Cellar Door, it's hard to miss the building with the weirwood growing out of it.
[she gestures up and out at the leaves.]
Thank you for your time. And thank you, to everyone who helped me at the inn and the board walk. You've been very kind. I hope I'll have the chance to return the favor.
Oh! Are there any Architects here who do work on buildings? I might need some help with my roof.
[the vibe is spoiled somewhat as she struggles to turn off the recording feature.]

[She's something like ten years Alvin's junior, at his best guess, but the girl's clothes and general bearing make it hard to be as casual as he'd like. He's still doing it, of course, but it takes more effort. He rakes his hair back from his face.]
If I got you enough leather, would you be able to make me a coat? How much do you think it'd run me?
[It's gotta cost more than just the materials, right?]
no subject
It's good to meet you, Alvin. I would be glad to make your coat. I shouldn't like to ask too much of a fellow new arrival, but anything else you can spare in the way of dressmaking supplies, or food for Lady, would be very much appreciated.

I'm Ezra Bridger. And this-[He points to the white feline peering around his shoulder.]
Is Sahar.
I don't know how to weave or tan...yet, I guess? But I did learn how to spin thread, the last place I was before I came here, so if you ever need another pair of hands for that, I'm happy to help.
no subject
This is Visenya. She was born to a cat that used to live here.
[alayne pets her head and gets nibbled on. she doesn't seem to mind.]
I'm afraid I don't have anything here for you to spin [or a...loom...], but I'd be glad to trade a little work for your fine thread. And I do use quite a lot of salvage, so if you find any old clothes or beads I would be very grateful for them.

[Ah, yes, she knows that accent, and that
wolfdog. And those dressmaker sensibilities. It's somewhat rare for Renfri to use video, but she does this time, and it seems as though she's doing better than she'd been back when she and Alayne had first crossed paths; some of the bandages have come off by now, and she's looking reasonably in better spirits.]
Pity you missed the wedding last month. You might've had all manner of business.

While I do not normally seek out clothing for myself, I am sure my friends would say I could always use more clothing for my wardrobe.
[Given he doesn't even possess enough outfits to last a full week, he definitely could use more outfits.]
What do you take as payment?
no subject
I would ask for dressmaking supplies and proper meat for Lady, but anything easy enough to trade will do.

Did you make the dress you're wearing, too? Because it's gorgeous. You totally look like a goth queen or something.

I make all my clothes, when I can help it. It's a way to attract custom by showing people what it is I do.
[and it's a small way of wresting control from littlefinger, but that's neither here nor there.]
Did you make your clothes?

Ehhhh, begging your pardon, Miss Alayne -- this one here would like to know if the collar your lovely Lady is wearing is your handiwork as well.
["Boof," adds the dog politely. The borzoi is Break's omen, and he ran to badger him into getting onto the omni the minute he saw that collar.]

[Richie is sitting right outside the clinic, and he whistles for something off-screen to come join them. Sure enough, S'mores the direwolf comes into view, and Richie gives her a gentle pet and a little kiss on the top of her furry head before looking back to the Omni.]
If you wanna repay the favor, you oughta bring Lady over sometime to Turtle Cove. Just follow the painted turtles around town. She and S'mores can hang out.

Oh, thank the Mistress. You make dresses according to design? Because I can sketch out what I'd like the best, not just bring the fabric and trimmings. I'd really appreciate it.
And I'm Tinya! I'm very glad to meet you, Alayne.

I would be glad to make your dresses, and I'm glad to meet you too. And all your little cats! I had one pressed upon me by my neighbor.

Um. Hi, Alayne. It's me, Lexi? How's Lady? Have you met Orville? [she holds a hedgehog cradled in her hands, holding him up for inspection. then, her nose squinches in thought] And what's a Night Walker?
[she could guess, given the name, but she didn't want to assume]
no subject
It's good to meet you, Orville.
[is that her omen? certainly winter likes to be addressed, but he generally prefers to speak for himself as well. should she fetch him out of the heart tree? but he'd probably say something imprudent on purpose.]
Night Walkers are the singers and entertainers, here.
[some of them do other jobs, but she doesn't ask questions.]
The woman who lived in this house was an old Night Walker who sang in mummer's plays for years and years. She had beautiful gowns, but she was quite small. I've been taking them to pieces and making new ones.
[it was practically all she had done in the eyrie, when she hadn't had to mind sweetrobin.]
