[It's not entirely obvious when Snow White starts up the video, just how much pain she is in. She's still smiling but it's a bit more subdued. She's even paler (somehow) than she usually is. She also has a bandage on her neck. Her animal friends around her are deeply concerned, watching her carefully and Faramund, her giant stag is staying pressed against her side as if supporting her to stay upright.]
Why hello everyone!
My goodness, wasn't that jungle such an interesting place! I've never seen some of the animals there before! They were so nice, though. [Snow had struggled in the jungle not because of the animals but because of the pain she's currently in just for existing. But her pain tolerance, despite her appearance, is ridiculously high.]
Oh, but! That isn't why I'm speaking with you all.
I'm sure we've all noticed those terribly large blood boils coming up all over the place. And while the bloodhounds are doing a marvelous job getting rid of them, well there is just SO many of them the poor things can't get to all of them. Not that they don't try, of course. [Snow being Snow is yes, slowly befriending them.]
So, I'm going to tell you how I get blood out of clothing! And walls, and floors, and furniture, and windows, and really anything else! Especially since the blood splatters don't smell very nice. [That's one way of putting it.]
Thankfully, getting blood off the walls and floor are the easiest to clean with a good strong brush and bucket of scented soap! But I do know the rest can be very tricky.
So if you would like any help, please let me know. Blood in on fabriced furniture can be especially tricky.

Video; CW: Underage drinking and brewing
No, not even once. Perhaps when I was a baby but I don't think so. You'll be the first person to ever read to me! How exciting!
Video; CW: Underage drinking and brewing
[no one to read to her. that sounds terribly sad to Rose who at least had a governess as a girl to do such things] Would now be good to come visit? I don't want you overworking yourself.
Video;
Well, I will never say no to a visit from a friend. No one has taken me up on teaching them how to remove blood so I can't really overwork myself in any case.
Video;
And I'll go ahead and come over. I should be there in about half an hour.
[and when Rose arrives, it's in clothing utterly unlike her dresses from home. instead, it's a light blue cable-knit sweater, jeans, and work boots with her hair pulled back into a ponytail.
she knocks neatly on the door] Snow? I'm here? Should I let myself in?
Video to Action
Ooooh, I've never had coconut or a pineapple! I'm so happy I'm getting to try so many new things, and with a wonderful friend like you, Rose!
[When Rose knocks, the door will be opened by a bear.
Yes, a bear, an actual bear.]
Rose! Rose is that you? [Snow's voice comes from a bit further down the hallway. Everywhere, literally everywhere are animals sleeping or chatting away or cleaning the house. The bear, for his part, goes back down onto all fours and gruffs and chuffs at Rose, nodding his head and actually beckoning for Rose to follow him.]
Just follow Bernard! He'll show you to me!
Action
I hadn't had them until here, either! Apparently they're from the tropics? [and Rose's smile softens] And I'm glad I can experience I can experience them with you, too.
[before she leaves, she tucks a copy of Anne of Green Gables in her backpack. when the door opens, she's somewhat taken aback by the bear, but she does remember Snow talking about her animal friends. so this is likely one? she hopes?
Yes, it's me! [and the sheer number of animals surprises her. and they're talking to one another? unheard of back home, except in fairy tales. which she supposes counts given that Snow White herself--well, she'd never imagined she'd meet the actual young woman!
she follows the bear as instructed and soon is brought to Snow White. the poor woman looks like she's in pain, but putting on a brave face] Hello, Snow. Would you like me to get something for you? Tea and toast, maybe?
Action;
Rose, hello, I'm so sorry I couldn't be at the door to greet you. My friends really do not think I should be moving around too much. Did you make it here without any trouble? Tea and toast sound lovely. Just a moment and I can make us some.
Action;
No, no, it's quite all right. You're not feeling well. And I did make it here easily, but because you're unwell, I'll make the tea and toast. Just tell me the directions to your kitchen, along with how dark you like your toast. Everything will be fine. [she hopes]
Action;
And I have all sorts of teas. [She made to lift her arm and then inhaled sharply because pain raced up her arm and spine. She pushed through, however, and kept smiling.] The- the kitchen is just right through there, shall I have some of my little bird friends show you where everything is?
Action;
Which one is your favorite. [and she worries at the indrawn breath, because it sounded like it was painful] And I'm sure they'll be very helpful. [so she followed them into the kitchen. fortunately, there are toast tongs like she's seen in the kitchen back home. this should be simple enough.
...ten minutes and at least four attempts later, she gave the bird friends a hopeful look] Could you help me time this properly?
Action;
Well, some nice honey mint tea might be very nice right now, though willow bark tea may be better for pain.
[The animals are patient as they wait for Rose to try her best to make tea, when she asks for help, the little birds chirp, a raccoon, and some squirrels immediately set to the task of filling up the kettle, turning on the stove, and putting it on one of the burners.]
Rose? Is everything alright?
Action;
Then, let's try the willow bark tea first? Then, if you're feeling better, you can have the honey mint as a treat.
[which she's very much appreciative of, she still finds actual cooking a trial because it wasn't expected that she'd ever have to do so on her own, there would be a housekeeper and a cook for those things.
...but then there's the issue of the toast] Everything's fine! I'm just having a little bit of trouble with the toast! [understatement. she's going to owe Snow White a new loaf of bread at this rate]
Action;
I don't mind seeds. Strawberry, raspberry, really, that little bit of crunch is alright to me.
Thank you so much for taking care of me, Rose, I really do appreciate all of this.
[At the mention of having trouble with the toast, Snow White turned to a raccoon and some squirrels.] Could you please go help Rose with the toast? [She asked and they got up, hurrying off to the kitchen and jumping up onto the counter to assist the redhead.
The raccoon held out its paws as if asking Rose to give it what was left of the bread loaf.]
Action;
Have you ever had a pomegranate? I hadn't until I went to Spain and oh my goodness, pomegranates are delicious. With the crunch being part of the appeal!
It's the least I can do for you, Snow White. You seem kind. Kindness is priced higher than rubies.
[oh, hello, raccoon and some squirrels. are you here to help? she will be absolutely grateful for the help. peanut butter mixed with seeds for both of you.
and she offers the raccoon the loaf of bread] I do hope you know what you're doing better than I do.
Action;
[Well... maybe green or yellow and pink apples... The actual poison apple was up in her room.]
Thank you for thinking so highly of me, Rose. I think kindness is very important. [Mostly because she lived an entire life without it.
The raccoon nods, giving a thumbs up before going about setting up the toaster and putting it in, turning the nob to the setting Snow White liked. He gestured for Rose to come over and to push down on the plunger of the toaster.]
Action;
[she's never even heard of pink apples. when she was from, granny smiths were a novelty on their own where she lived]
Why wouldn't I think highly of you, you're kind and friendly and always willing to help others. And I feel the same. [most of her life was spent without open affection, too. decorum had to be maintained.
honestly, if she thought about this for a minute, she'd be a little embarrassed that a raccoon was a better cook than she was, but she still knew she had a long way to go in that field]
Action;
I think we just have to try our best to grow our own food. I don't mind getting my hands dirty, soap and water will handle that. Besides, I've heard the food you grow yourself tastes that much better! I don't know how true that is, but I think I'd like to try.
Oh, it's just... people used to ignore my existence. It was for their safety, so I do understand it, I'm not mad about that. But it got lonely and I'm not very used to being thought of at all, never mind highly.
[The raccoon seemed to be tapping his back paw impatiently but eventually the toaster 'dinged' and he gestured for Rose to grab a plate and pull out the toast, not wanting to do it himself. The toast was a perfect light-medium brown on both sides.]
Did it come out alright?
Action;
That, I've really never done. We had a housekeeper to go to the grocer and a groundskeeper to keep the grounds looking nice. However, I'm not above learning how to handle such things for myself. Maybe we could learn together?
[and that? strikes close to home. she'd felt so alone with her mother and Cal, no one in her social set would approach her unless it was to talk about the upcoming wedding and wasn't she thrilled? she'd nodded her head so many times, she thought it might fall off] ...nether am I, really. People used to ignore my existence, too, except for under very uncomfortable circumstances. But this place can be a change. For both of us, I hope?
[she nearly jumped a mile when finally noticed the raccoon tapping his paw. she then found a plate on a drying rack and put the toast on the plate]
Almost! Do you want any butter or jam?
Action;
Oh, I'm very used to taking care of nearly everything in a household. But I do admit, I never did try my hand at gardening or farming. So that does sound quite lovely! I was told some people are working on the soil problem here. Though some have been very successful! After all, we do have the orchards here.
This place is much better than where I was before. Safer too. [Isn't that a harrowing notion.]
Oh! Would it be alright to have both? The butter is underneath the butter cover and there are jams in the cupboards.
Action;
Just because you're used to it, it doesn't mean you should have to do it alone. [she's a strong believer in the ability of others to help turn one's life around] Soil problem? What soil problem? [she's now envisioning zucchini about the size of her index finger and potatoes the size of marbles]
I must agree, on both counts. [better here than in Philadelphia and forced to marry Cal]
Of course you may have both! You're the one asking, after all. [and she locates the butter and a crock of strawberry jam, slathering the bread with both liberally and putting them on a small plate] Here I come with your food!
Action;
I... Well, I will try to remember. [But less than a year compared to over 7 of them is a lot to weigh out.] Well, the soil here, it seems to be very bad for growing things, or at least, it is for the people who live here.
[When Rose comes in, she brightens up and smiles at her.] Thank you so much, Rose. I'm sure it's delicious!
Action;
All right. That's all anyone can ask. And that's not good. Must we depend on other places for our fruits and vegetables even as the weather does improve?
[Rose smiles warmly back] I do hope so. I needed a little assistance from your animal friends.
Action;
Hmm... well, the strange thing is, we do get fruits and vegetables and some of the most beautiful flowers.
That's alright, I need lots of assistance from my animal friends. I've always been able to depend on them. Animals are always honest.
Action;
Really? I'm looking forward to all of it, especially the fruits. I don't think there's a single one I've tried that I didn't like.
Certainly more so than humans. And your animal friends seem like a lifesaver.
Action;
I've heard there's something called a dragon fruit! Do you wonder if it looks like a dragon to be called that?
Oh, they are! They've saved me many times both here and back home!
