[the video starts near one of the blood blisters, though by 'near' it's clear the video taker has no particular interest in getting close enough to be in a potential splash zone. the video itself is more focused on the pair of blood hounds gathered around it.

when a voice speaks it's with a heavy czech accent and only after scratching that sounds like he's writing something.] I suppose it is customary to make greetings here, as a new arrival, so hello. I am Viktor.

[he clears his throat like he's glad that's over with, onto what he apparently really wants to talk about. the video pans down to a pale finger tapping his notebook, one page blurred and off the the side with what looks like confused formulas trying to figure out how the hell an omni works in his frame of knowledge, the others with notes on the bloodhounds.

one noticeable feature to people without paleblood is he keeps drawing/referencing mushrooms on the beasts, which clearly aren't there.] I've been curious about this fungal growth, especially as I've noticed it on more than just the eh... stag dogs.

Oh. [a pause to process that then:] Which aspect exactly? My hope would be the... hm, blisters? As good a word as any.

[Right, can't just tell a guy he's seeing things so broadly. But he looks like of impressed.]

Hey, you're taking that news better than most people would. [A smile and then he pales a bit.] Oh wait, blisters? Man, don't go near those things. Those are definitely real. And dangerous. It's the mushrooms that aren't really there, but you're not the only one, pretty sure it's a paleblood thing for this month.

Eh, I was in what can only be described as a placenta when I first woke here. [he finally lifts the omni to be used properly, waving a hand to dismiss that whole rather gross affair] Hallucinations of mushrooms? Rather on the nose but far more pleasant at least.

[just the scritch scratch of more notes as he nods along to that] I assume the danger is when they... pop.

You got a point there. The whole squid thing is hell of a crash course in what to expect from this world.

[He nods in confirmation of that.] Yeah, I watched a guy get covered in the corrupted blood inside and pretty much instantly become a huge monster that ate like three people before anyone could say 'holy shit!'

A shame we are secretly invertebrates and still must suffer from back pains. If anything tells me the cruel truth of this world it is that. [dry as dust there.

and he hums in consideration at that gruesome scene, making a face. yes, definitely keeping farther away.] Do you know what these dogs are trying to do then? They don't seem to be feeding on the... blisters.

[Well, he's chuckling at that because it is true. He's a little young to experience back pains, but he's been injured enough times that old injuries in his bones and ligaments ache a lot.] You've got a good point.

[Then he shrugs.] Hey, just because they're not using their mouths, doesn't mean they're not eating that junk.

Ugh. [yeah, that about sums up how he feels about the dogs eating the blisters in any way. it's probably fine, natural, but when you've seen those blisters up close it's hard not to pull a face.] Well... if that gets rid of them I suppose there's no reason to complain.

[he shakes his head, turns to a different topic] You wouldn't happen to know a place where scrap metal or parts could be salvaged here, do you?

Man, you think that's gross? Wait until you see someone wrapped up in a gross membrane filled with a zillion eyes that watch you.

[He hasn't personally seen the Sleeper Membrane, but he's heard graphic descriptions of it, and it sounds like the red blood vines from the dream. Then he nods.]
