[the video starts near one of the blood blisters, though by 'near' it's clear the video taker has no particular interest in getting close enough to be in a potential splash zone. the video itself is more focused on the pair of blood hounds gathered around it.
when a voice speaks it's with a heavy czech accent and only after scratching that sounds like he's writing something.] I suppose it is customary to make greetings here, as a new arrival, so hello. I am Viktor.
[he clears his throat like he's glad that's over with, onto what he apparently really wants to talk about. the video pans down to a pale finger tapping his notebook, one page blurred and off the the side with what looks like confused formulas trying to figure out how the hell an omni works in his frame of knowledge, the others with notes on the bloodhounds.
one noticeable feature to people without paleblood is he keeps drawing/referencing mushrooms on the beasts, which clearly aren't there.] I've been curious about this fungal growth, especially as I've noticed it on more than just the eh... stag dogs.

Hey, you're taking that news better than most people would. [A smile and then he pales a bit.] Oh wait, blisters? Man, don't go near those things. Those are definitely real. And dangerous. It's the mushrooms that aren't really there, but you're not the only one, pretty sure it's a paleblood thing for this month.
no subject
[just the scritch scratch of more notes as he nods along to that] I assume the danger is when they... pop.

unless you want blood on that notebook
[ and no, she doesn’t mean one potentially large burst of a blood blister. those hounds can’t get to every polluted zit before monsters come sniffing in the vicinity. ]

where else are you seeing mushrooms

[yes ok, maybe he will take a few moments to answer because he's finding a place even farther away, preferably behind some walls. in truth he's already gotten most of what he wanted anyway]
The dogs have them, as do some people, though none seem to be causing any distress. There are masses of them spouting in most areas, though I cannot say how normal that is in this place. Some are even familiar, which I cannot say I was expecting.
no subject
have you seen one burst yet
[ also, interesting to note that he’s crazy. okay no, not crazy, just severely misled in his perceptions. vi herself is a bit lost on how this trench place operates but she can at least confirm: ]
btw
the bloodhounds didn’t have mushrooms on them
i’m guessing these non distressed people didn’t either

A shame, I rather like mushrooms. If they begin growing in my muscles I may need to reevaluate that.
text;
no no no no no no no.
there truly were mushrooms growing OUT of my skin. i'd offer to show you what's left of the marks, but i don't know you and they're in places where it's not suitable to show another.
i hate mushrooms. i want to throw cans of cream of mushroom soup at the moss king.

This Moss King, the mushrooms are his doing?

but that zoom and focus on viktor's notes makes jinx squint and pause. she's spent long enough scrutinizing the handwriting from that hextech research journal to register the familiarity. the name viktor is also pretty sus, but what are the odds anyway? ]
do you have a thing for shrooms or...?

Though I have been told I am hallucinating. Appropriate subject matter, I suppose.

there's a place down in the catacombs where mushrooms the size of fists will grow right out of your body if you touch the spores
maybe you're meant to be down there

Have you been to these catacombs then?

[ The girl clearly sounds surprised as she's saying it. It's that genuine kind of surprise that you can't hide from your voice unless you really try to do so, and this girl clearly isn't trying.
Because it's just a relief to hear someone else talking about it as well. Since-- ]
I haven't heard anyone else mention them either, but I've also seen them in a lot of places! I was starting to wonder if it was just normal, and that that is why no one was talking about it..
video;
well, good to know it's not just him indeed, there's even a vague hint of relief in his tone at that. not that mass hallucination is something to hope for.] Do you see it? Along the antlers especially. I have been told they are hallucinations for the 'palebloods' this month, though I do not understand what exactly that means just yet.
no subject
So even though that's a hard pill to swallow, she at least does say: ]
Yes.. I see them right there.
[ The least she can do is confirm that even if they may be hallucinating, at least they're hallucinating together. ]
I think I can help you explain that 'paleblood' thing too.. Even though it might sound a little strange, so please bear with me. [ Maybe it's a bit of an overly polite way of starting off this explanation, but Chizuru can't help it. She remembers how odd it sounded to her, after all, and she doesn't want to make this new person uncomfortable right off the bat. ] But when we arrive in this place, it seems that our blood changes. For some people it might still look the same, but end up looking different under different circumstances, or for some people it looks strange right off the bat.. But it seems like there's several types of blood that you can get after showing up here, and paleblood is one of those types.
[ Which must make them both palebloods, if they're both seeing the fungal growth all over the place. ]

But as others have stated, they are not actually present for anyone who isn't unfortunately a paleblood.
Have you been given any information on the "blood types" around here, because I can assure you they are quite different from what you might think given the term.
video;
I know very little, I admit. Palebloods apparently are prone to visions and some form of empathy, each type suffers differently as the months go on. I do not know anything of the other types aside from hearing some names in passing. Are you also a paleblood?
no subject
Admittedly, I am no expert on the other blood types, but it seems as though there are only five types us Sleepers can be. I do know the denizens can be quite cruel to vilebloods in particular, but it's all nonsense as far as I'm concerned. Blood type has no baring on anything besides what powers we seem to have, as far as I can tell.
Well, that any whatever the month decides to throw our way in terms of unpleasant affect.
