( The feed opens to a woman who's clearly seen better days, hair a mess of disheveled layers and eyes circled in dark. Fellow Warmbloods might be able to relate to the way she moves β as though hardly daring to, even the most subtle shifts of her body resulting in little stabs of pain.
Despite the wince that flinches across her features as she settles back against a nest of pillows, the woman offers a quiet laugh. )
This is probably the worst time to show my face on here, huh. But I hope the rest of you who have this flu, or whatever it is, are taking care.
Anyway, since all I can really do is sit here... ( βa wry little smile; it's been weeks and she's still not too thrilled about being home-boundβ ) ...it's been giving me a lot of time to think.
( She reaches very slowly for something that was just off-screen, drawing it gingerly into her lap. It's a brown teddy bear. )
This is something from my home that ended up here with me. It's my daughter's. When she was little, she had a very hard time with sleep. ( An understatement to be sure; the progressively dangerous sleepwalking spells are what she now knows were supernatural callings to her daughter's fractured soul. But Rose won't divulge that quite so openly. )
This guy brought her comfort, so in turn, he brought me comfort, too. ( She can't quite hold the stuffed animal to her chest the way she wants to, not with physical contact being as painful as it is, but one arm dares to loosely curl a bit closer around it, protective. )
Do you have anything here with you, from your home? If you don't mind sharing, what does it mean to you? This sick old lady would love to hear your stories.

[Rika brightens, glad that she doesn't have to worry.]
Yes, it is just us two. Satoko and I are used to living together, so we are okay. I'm very lucky that we found each other!

You lived together back home? I'd love to hear more about what your world was like, if you're okay talking about it. ( Rose inquires softly, curious to potentially learn more about the girl's situation and home world. She's absolutely going to be wanting to keep an eye on these two... )

Satoko and I lived in a village called Hinamizawa. Everyone looks after each other there, so even though we are very young, we are also very well looked after.
[She won't explicitly say that they are both orphans. It's strange to talk about, since Rika's relationship with her parents and their death has become so distorted.]
Do you live in a small town or a big city?

( She's listening to the girl talk more about her home world, smile brightening. )
Ohβ that sounds like a lovely place to grow up, with everyone helping each other out. It sounds very comfortable.
I lived somewhere on the smaller side, though I liked that it had a lot of things you could find in a bigger city, too. Lots of places to shop. ( Rose laughs again, gently. It was one of Ohio's more charming cities, a mix of historic and modern. She does miss it. She and Christopher specifically chose it, and designed their home there. Everything was made the way they liked. )
Shopping is something I miss the most. This place doesn't have much....

[Rika has been maintaining her own home for... Well, she's not really sure how to describe time when it comes to her life anymore. But it's been a while since she wasn't independent.]
We can bike to the nearby city if we want to shop. It takes about an hour, but it's a very pretty ride. Hinamizawa is too small for many stores.

( Rose managed to find a very charming little cottage sort of place. )
Oh, that does sound very pretty. It's been years since I biked, but that must have been so relaxing.
Actuallyβ that makes me wonder if it might be possible to find bikes around here. Some shops do seem to have a few modern things in them....

Hm- And I am not sure what modern means anymore. I am from 1983 and apparently that makes me an old lady here. The things here can be overwhelmingly amazing to me.

I know what you mean. Most people I meet here seem to come from the future, to me... even this thing is still taking some getting used to. ( She gestures to her Omni device. It's... like something from a sci-fi movie. )
We can be old ladies together.

Really? Then we would have been classmates!
[Her expression then softens with some genuine relief;]
That makes me feel better too. I was beginning to worry that I would not be able to fit in here.
