A list of available houses for people to stay in, the fact that there's no currency here and that apparently we should all be picking up shiny rocks, a warning to stay away from the rocks.

I did. Uh turns out our house from Deerington is here? I don't know how that works. But it's in the district with the big clock.

You're telling me your entire house is just here. The one I lived next door to. Is it the same? How do you know?

Okay. So maybe there were a couple things more important but we have them covered now.

Yeah. Because I walked inside and like a bunch of my stuff was here. Including my dog? And a couple chickens.

Not really? It kind of looked like- It kind of looks and feels a bit darker- but I think that's more the town itself than anything.

Well the door creaked and Zwei licked me something fierce. Nothing out of the ordinary happened outside of that.

Yeah... I think so- Maybe a little spooked but the chickens and Zwei seemed normal enough.

Have you seen anything from the dream here?

Good info. Thanks, Ruby. There might be something to that theory I had that we'd wake up in the real Deerington after everything.

Wu's sauna is in the house we found. Not the safehouse, though. Just the sauna. Wu said that was the important part anyway.

How are you feeling about being right about all this?
I'll let you know if I find anything else worth noting. Or maybe we can go out and do some scouting around at some point.

OH MY GOSH- That's incredible. Well- Home is where the heart is anyways, right? You've both got each other and that's more important.

Makes it easier to predict what's coming for us if I am right. So that's good.

Scouting is a great idea. I've been trying to make a map of the city, but it takes a while to get familiar with a place as big as this. Deerington has nothing on Trench.

Well here's hoping you're right. Things should be at least a little more predictable now that we don't have dream logic to mess up the whole situation, right? That's a point in favor.

Yeah- The size is good and bad in it's own right. But it does make it harder to keep track of one another if things get chaotic. On the bright side the townspeople don't hate us and hopefully the world itself isn't out to get us. So it hopefully wont be that big of a problem.

I did! We uh- had a romantic stumble along the beach when I washed up. She's doing okay but she's kind of worried about my powers going bananas.

Anything has to be better than doors that lead to whole blizzards.

Do you know if the townspeople hated us right away back in Deerington? Was it immediate? Did it develop?

Anyway, I don't blame her. It's worrying. And weird. Are hers alright?

Okay- So kind of a weird story.
Apparently they did.
But I showed up during a couple months where we weren't in town.
And when I got to Deerington they were acting super nice.
But... It was all an act because they were buttering us up to sacrifice for some weird cult stuff.
I nearly got burned alive.
It was a great time.

As far as I know. We tested them out a couple times and nothing weird happened. I think I'm the main oddity here.

That's good to know, actually. So we need our guards up here and probably not just trust that the locals have our best interest at heart.

It might be worth staying wary for a couple months. The townspeople were apparently jerks before I got there. But it was definitely a very misleading first month in Deerington for me.

These people seem a bit more genuine with what they're doing but maybe keep an eye out for gifts or anything? Also don't make enemies who are totally willing to help the towns people try and kill you.

I made that mistake once, it kind of sucked.

I'll keep an eye out for any reports of suspicious behavior. Been thinking it might be a good idea to see what kind of defenses we might have if the townspeople do turn on us.

Sleeper enemy, or town enemy? What happened there?

Honestly putting something together like the safehouses might not be a terrible idea.

Just a few stockpiles of weapons, food and supplies we might need if it comes to that. A handful of people willing to sort of investigate, get a lay of the land and help where needed?

A sleeper enemy. She was someone that had beef with me from back in our world. She apparently had been hunting me down back home but I had no idea when I first got here. So it was kind of like surprise "I'm going to murder you." when she first showed up for a months.

We've mostly worked it out here. Things are complicated because of back home-
But we have an understanding and a truce now.

I'll look into that, that's a good idea. Seems like we can just claim whatever houses we want. We could put wards on them. Monsters are a big problem here if you believe the locals.

So she's fine now? How mostly is mostly? Do you trust her?

Yeah. I've got that impression from them too.
Kind of reminds me of home- Which I mean sucks for anyone not from a monster infested world but it's something I'm familiar with.
We could ask Luna Lovegood or anyone with more magic knowledge if they can help us with that.

I don't know if we'll ever hit friend territory? I mean that would be great but there's just a whole lot of baggage there.

But I trust her not to openly work against me or stab me repeatedly. If that makes sense? We're acquaintances? Professional colleagues?

She's reliable and good in a fight. And sometimes that's all you need?

Yeah... She was in on the attack that happened at my school. Her boss had been pulled in by scarier people. I was fighting the both of them at the time and I managed to remove her from the fight but her boss died afterwards.

She blamed me and it kind of cemented a whole revenge thing.

I get you. Know a couple people like that back home. Wouldn't actually trust Ping not to stab me in the back if it made him a couple thousand yuan, though. That guy's a piece of work. Glad you're not being hunted anymore, at least. That's the last thing you need on top of everything else.

I'll look into it, see if Luna wants to help. She was interested in helping out back in Deerington. You know if she actually washed up with the rest of us?

Sounds like a plan. I'll bug Ange about it then. She's got some magical talent but I've never seen her do anything like wards. If she can't do it I'm sure she'd be interested in learning.

And I have seen Luna around. Caught her in the library the other day. Pretty much right in her element.

People like that are everywhere. Wouldn't surprise me if half the people here had a similar experience, but Ping's not malicious, just stupid.

Yeah. She was sure it hadn't changed when we first got here. But she keeps showing up with all sorts of new tricks. I just haven't seen her do wards yet. I will investigate!

Deer are apparently still a big deal here like they were in the dream. I don't know for sure if they're magical but I think it's worth a shot to see what they can do.

Do you have any left over? I used most of mine on weapons for other people before we left the dream. If you do we can start experiments right away.
