[The face that appears on video is not at all her usual self. If anything, she seems shell-shocked. In truth, an entire piece of her has been unceremoniously ripped out of herself, and frankly she's moving through the day, just carrying out necessary motions.]

[Like a ghost haunting her own life.]

...Asami's gone.

[There is a long silence after that. She wants to say things about her, say what she meant to Korra, say all the things she never said in this stupid, stupid hell she loathed with all her heart that trapped them all - but what would be the point? Those who knew Asami already knew, and those who didn't wouldn't care.]

If you had any projects with her, I'll keep her shop open long enough for you to collect them.

...That's all.

[And not once, in those words, did her eyes so much as move towards the camera, staring off into the far distance instead. Right now, she's holding herself together by a thread.]

[Vira-Lorr didn't say anything at first, closing the door firmly behind her to make sure that she was heard before walking in and reaching over to wrap her arms around her friend from behind. True, deep down she knew they'd be reunited one day, but that didn't help this situation in the slightest. It didn't change the fact that they were apart right now.]

I'm here, Korra. And I'm so very sorry...

[She nods a bit, idly turning over a scarf Asami had gotten here in Trench over in her hands a few times.]

Thanks.

[It's said a bit listlessly, but it's meant.]

[She wrapped her arms around her friend and pressed in close. She knew for a fact that this wasn't going to be easy, and she wasn't even sure if Korra wanted to talk or just wanted the companionship of a friend. she'd just play it by ear.]

I'm here for whatever you need. She's alright, back at home, right?

I hope so. Assuming we can trust anything here, which I don't.

[She sighed, leaning into Vira-Lorr.]

It isn't easy to trust anything here, but that...

[She curled her arms tightly around her friend and pulled her in close.]

This was one of the few things we learned we could trust. A few went home, and returned much later, sometimes with memories. She is safe at home, and you'll be reunited. I'm sure of that. I just hate that you're apart right now.

[She shakes her head.]

I can only hope for that. Assuming the Pthumerians allow it. Or maybe that's just not my fate.

[There is a slight pause, and then she says, a bit more quietly.]

A lot of the Avatars don't get to live long. Or well.

[onerthes]

What fate the Avatar deals with in your world... I can't change, but no matter what the Pthumerians may try, they do not have the same level of control. I am certain that it will not be like that, not forever.

[She grunted and sighed.]

Or I will just have to remind them that Mercy isn't the only one who can get her head checked.

[She's quiet for a long moment after everything.]

They need tearing down. All of them.

[onerthes]

I'm not going to argue that, Korra. I don't know that i believe that they're intentional in the harm, but that hardly excuses the harm that they do. Even the ones I dislike less seem to cause us nothing but strife when they become involved.

[She nods, listening, her eyes distant. It's not the sort of phrase one wants to hear from an Avatar - for most all of them, action always follows thought, sooner or later.]

[onerthes]

[She leaned in and gave her a long hug, closing her eyes and sighing.] I just... want you to be happy. To know that you'll be reunited, to be sure of it. And I'm sorry that you're in such pain right now, Korra.

[avatar_state]

I know.

[It's all she can say, really, in the moment.]

[onerthes]

[And she didn't need to say anything more. Vira-Lorr just held and hugged her, reaching up to pat at her head and allowing her to cry, to scream or anything that she needed. She was going to be there for her friend.]
