I believe many struggle with building a life here conceptually, as though that will be turning their back on the life they once had.

That is not the question though. Personally? I suppose leaving any place better than when you arrived is a worthwhile goal out of a life.

I've been trying to get involved in things I hope will have long term impact, if in small ways.

Expanding food options through farming. Teaching meditation and other life skills at the orphanage. Working on expanding my own education.

And supporting those looking for more ways to deal with corruption and beasthood.

So, I guess the answer is that I've been trying to build something that resembles normalcy. Something that isn't defined by this strange place.

I couldn’t tell you what kind of life I’m trying to build here because I still haven’t figured it out yet. I’m just… living, I guess?

Kind of a boring answer, huh? But I never had the option back home. I was always on the run. I had to hide my identity, couldn’t risk getting close to people, that kind of shit. It’s nice to be in a place where I’m allowed to be myself without fear of it endangering me or my family.

And for some people this place is better than the one they left behind. I'm honestly making a life for the first time here.

I was with those who saw the awakening of this world from its hellish slumber. I would see it through to the logical conclusion at this point if it will permit me to remain. But, much as I miss friends and loved ones time has been separating me from their company for years now and I have formed a business, built projects within this world and gotten engaged.

I suppose you could say I have gone as native as one of our kind ever does at this point. I wish only to live in ease and peace within this world, and if that takes work to still the land and give it peace, so be it.

You're making me question what I'm doing, but I think that's good! I've chosen to build a life where I dig deep within myself, with the gracious help of a few friends, to find out who I really am. I think, at least. I seek it because..., well, I've struggled with my sense of self for a long time. I thought I had it figured out, but being here has helped me slowly come to a better... "fuller", I guess, understanding of me.
