how do you do magic if you're not a mage
fake magic for not mages?
where do you buy meat for dogs
[These are not, in fact, incorrectly-aimed omni searches, this is simply how local not-a-mage Carver Hawke chooses to communicate. He has all the grace and poise of a preteen trying to google puberty, when it comes to Doing a Magic, but he also doesn't know how to be anonymous, so here he is.
Also if you've ever received a message from a one Palamedes Sextus and are wondering what's up with this severely different un: warden post, oopsie doodle? The click-through userid is different, if you make the effort to check.]

[not another one....]
I won't argue that. As for meat I know fish are fairly easy to come by, if the dog in question has a taste for it. Magic is another matter entirely, which I admit I struggle the practical application of myself. Suddenly being a mage by all accounts is an odd step.

[There's some blue in the Warden getup, thanks!!]
apparently it's pointless to feed her because she's an omen, but i'm going to feed my dog. i think she could like fish
[Know that he is giving his giant mabari a considering look while she snuffles at his omni, to determine if she would like fish. Hmm...]
you're the first one to admit it's strange. being a mage all of a sudden i mean

[and yeah he was pretty drunk by the end of it so.]
Eh, why not feed them? I feed Rio, though more treats than meals I suppose. She is easier because she enjoys mushrooms and that is in painful abundance here.
Remind me later, I'll send you directions to where I usually get fish. I hope you know how to barter, they will rip you off otherwise.
[and a moment to consider that, fingers tapping against the omni before,]
Magic was reviled in my world. Some steps have been made to ease that bias, but largely it is considered dangerous. From what I gather most worlds simply never had magic at all or were very accepting of magic in most of it's forms.

thanks. i know how to look mean, that'll do it
that's a joke
[But he does know how to look mean, so maybe...?]
i'm not good at spotting plants you can eat, so it's meat for us. if i see a spot with too many mushrooms i'll let you know?
mages get it on all sides where i'm from too. my family were mostly mages, it's not like i'm against mages, but
[He's not a mage, he can't wonder what his family would think of him having magic for more than two seconds without concluding either resentment, for having it in a place that normalizes and welcomes magic entirely— or delight, which would sting more than the resentment.]
well somebody could've asked before doing it to me
