So for those not in the know, our house burned down last month.

[ What a way to open a post, right. And yet Ange manages to say it with something very close to a pokerface. Those who know her well may see something at its edges though. An annoyance that starts to bleed more and more into the girl's tone as she speaks on. ]

And not in the 'dumb accident' sense. No, it's because apparently it's socially acceptable in this place to come to someone's house and set it on fire, before bringing your friends inside to start murdering its inhabitants. [ Okay, yes. At this point it's not thiny veiled annoyance anymore. This is obvious annoyance that she doesn't bother to hide. ] And before anyone asks me if I'm alright— I'm fine. Totally fine. I mean, I half-turned into a beast back there, but it's clearly cool. It's fine.

[ It's clearly not fine. The sarcasm is thick.

Though Ange seems to realise that's not why she was supposed to make this message, and manages to snap herself out of passive-aggressive-ville for just long enough to sigh and sound a little bit more neutral as she speaks on. ]

Anyway, we want to rebuild the house, but that's obviously something we need help with. None of us are exactly architects.. I think. I've learned to not question weird Remnant hobbies. [ You never know what those Remnant people are capable of. ] Not to mention we'd need help with the actual physical rebuilding itself too.

We could use help from a lot of people, so if anyone would be willing to help, that'd be great.

Ah, that was the word I was thinking of. Curses imply bad things.

[As much as she is a fan of all things occult curses were not something she really thought about that much.]

One of the things I understand is people really like to curse others for various reasons. In this case I wouldn't understand why that exact curse, but it's still awful.

I doubt someone cursed me to specifically be bad at cooking.

[ It's definitely said with Ange's usual deadpan, because.. well, even just the very idea of that is pretty ridiculous, and she's willing to acknowledge that.

Granted, it's not like the witches back home don't sometimes sink to petty levels like that, but.. still.. ]

That sounds like a lot of effort for very little and very dumb payoff.

It might not just be about the cooking. Do other things explode or just when cooking?

[It was ridiculous, even Ada could at least admit that one.]

Maybe and I will agree with that. I wouldn't understand why someone would, but you never know what people would do with curses. Though if this is it's very rude of them.

[ Ange can at least agree that it would be very rude to curse someone when it comes to cooking.. especially since she can't even think of a good reason for it, other than someone wanting to annoy her. (Which happens more often than Ange would like, that's for sure.) ]

No, it's definitely only while cooking. I'm not some sort of action hero that's got explosions around her all the time. [ THANKFULLY NOT.. ]

I see... still an odd thing to potentially curse someone over. But I assume you have help when it comes to meal times? But I do wonder if maybe there is a way to make it so the explosions don't happen anymore...

Oh, I definitely have help. We lived together in our house with a whole lot of people before those idiots decided to burn it all down. [ No, she won't let go of that. Ange refuses to let go of that. Because the whole thing is still dumb, and she's more traumatized by it than she'd let on to. Ever. ]

And I mean, as you know, there's always people cooking over at Break's place as well. [ So it's no problem for her either while she's staying there during the time her house is not yet rebuilt. ] I'd only have a problem if it was just me living somewhere by myself, or just me and Ruby together.

[ Since Ruby isn't exactly a kitchen princess either, to put it mildly.. ]

I do know. I'm one of those people ever since the whole baking thing.

[The other she was aware of, but she wasn't sure who else did since if there was anyone else they cooked at different times.]

But I'm glad you have help in that area, so there is no worries there. But oh... we went a bit off track didn't we? I know we were on about food and went from there, but I can at least say I have an idea of what to do now at least.

[ Ange's voice trails off for a moment.

This comes very close to openly showing concern for another person, after all, and Ange is always vulnerable when it comes to the idea of that being part of Her Brand. So there's a moment of difficulty, but then she manages to add, hoping it sounds casual enough: ]

Just don't overwork yourself making snacks for this, okay? [ Especially since Ada seems like one of those way too nice for their own good types.. ]

I won't, for the number it wouldn't be too much anyway.

[She knows when to take breaks at least since she doesn't need to distract herself from all that much. If there was something going on that would be a completely different factor.]

Plus if others are doing food too I wouldn't need to do too much anyway.

[ Ange hums. ]

Right. Other people already offered, so that should make sure the work is divided between all of you. [ It means no one has to make too many snacks all by themselves, even with the rather large amount of people coming over to work on the house. ] .. I'll see you there once we get started, then. I'll let you know when it happens.

[ Maybe even some time in advance, just to give Ada time to think about what snacks she wants to make and some time to prepare them, rather than having to rush last-minute. ]

[So she would have some idea of what to bring at least for the most part.]
