provenforce: (Don't leave me stranded)

[ Rey looks awkward in front of the camera, this is not her natural element. She doesn't enjoy calling attention to herself, and this feels very self-indulgent, but save walking around and polling anyone she comes across this seems like the most efficient way to ask her questions. ]

Hello. For those of you who don't know me which is- probably a lot of you, my name is Rey.

[ She pauses, chewing on the inside of her bottom lip briefly as she tries to think of how to proceed. ]

I'm wondering how those of you who are used to running for your lives, or fighting every day to survive have settled here. How you found things to be useful to the community.

I was a pilot and a scavenger back home, there doesn't seem to be much call for either of those things here.

So I was just wondering how others adjusted.

Thanks.

"When I arrived, one of the first people I met was someone I didn't know who was clearly from the people who invaded my planet. I attacked her with a wooden spoon."

He chuckles a little at the memory of Krolia's bewildered expression.

"It worked out in the end, but there was an adjustment period."

After a fashion. I think that might just be human nature. We adapt pretty easily.

[And having been in a place like this in some form or fashion for several years now... well, it might have been inevitable.]

Brains are very rude!!

If not friends, maybe you can figure out how to share the same space then. A truce maybe? I don't know if your situation was as bad as my "attack with a wooden spoon on site" scenario, but baby steps do build up over time.

[It was also significantly less stressful for poor Keith as she was apparently his mother. Oops.]
