Last month, I had the unfortunate issue of losing control of my vampiric nature and lashed out onto a number of people here. I hope you would be willing to accept my apology and if not, direct me in ways where I can make amends. I . . . do not usually need or require blood as sustenance so it took me by surprise.

My apologies. If it helps, it seems I've lost my sense of taste. Perhaps that is penance in a way.

Well, for the record, everything I've seen as part of this post and the results makes me inclined to trust you more, not less.

I see it as practical. This place alters moods, perceptions, desires for everyone, at various points. We're all capable of causing harm we wouldn't choose to, without those influences.

How you deal with the mess once the influence, corruption, whatever, passes—that matters. To me, at least.

I've never been enveloped by fire myself, either. Still not wild about uncontrolled fire.

Why fire?

My master died in a fire. He made sure the rest of us got away.

And I have memories, that got dumped in my head, of another member of my family burning. Not the same fire, just to be clear.

I see. That sounds quite traumatic.

[ alucard does not fear the fire though his mother burned in it. because the fire was an afterthought. he knew who it was that set the fire. ]

And you've seen mobs go after others, I take it?

They're very common in Wallachia.

It does happen here, sometimes - some of the non-Sleepers went after a friend of mine, not long ago.

But I wouldn't say it's common.

Wallachia's society is rather primitive. They have ways to go before they stop resorting to violence.

You know, where I'm from has had space travel for thousands of years. But we still have war and other stupid reasons people kill each other all the time.

I like your measure of a society better.

Oh, I don't expect war or strife to change, but chances are you won't get murdered because you believe in electricity or tripped into someone.
