[The device that lets him communicate with people over long distances is interesting, but Trevor's seen magic achieve something similar before.
No, what holds his attention is the several different vessels of water available in houses. He's standing in a bathroom where the shower, sink and bath all have the water running.]
...I feel like an idiot talking to myself, but if this really works.
[He looks directly at the camera and then attempts to straighten it out (it isn't) before he clears his throat.]
So citizens of this fine shithole, what do we need this much running water inside for?
The well I get-- [He points at the toilet.] But this all seems a bit much.

Not having to haul it up all the stairs they have in this place, I suspect. It's a luxury.
[....and, pfff oh No,] That isn't a well.

You can drink from it, too-- stays pretty cool and fresh.
[The way he's able to say this all with a completely straight face demonstrates an impressive amount of restraint.]

Why would you piss inside?

...that's not a well. [sure, maybe if you're a dog without a bowl, but.] That's for the other end, you know? Unless you're hung over, then it's for both.
So many options, right?

It's a fresher. Some people call it a bathroom. You use all of that water to clean up. Except the water in the toilet.
no subject
[But he does go to turn them off now that he's made his point.]
If it's for cleaning then one is enough.

All right, first off. That thing you're calling a well, Belmont? It's called a toilet. Think like a more modern version of a chamberpot. When you flush it, it sends all the stuff you'd do in a chamberpot out of your home.
no subject
So did anything change that we need that much water to wash it out?

[He's not from literally the middle ages but he was an ex-forest hobo, okay, he gets being overwhelmed by all the appliances and plumbing and electricity.]
...Pretty sure everyone's already covered don't drink from the toilet, so in order, the other things? First one's the sink, to wash your hands. Big box behind you is a shower--it's like standing in a rainstorm except without your clothes on. Gets you clean fast. Last one is a bathtub. Think of it like your own personal hotspring.
no subject
How often do you wash just your hands?
[He gets the rest even if it will not see frequent use by him, but the sink is truly a waste of space.]

Also, it's called hygiene. Running water keeps your skin clear and your crops watered, what're you complaining about?
no subject
[Pfft, gators.]
Running water is useful for keeping night creatures out, but it's doing a fat load of good if it's not running.

The plumbing all seemed very intuitive to her; the chamberpot had looked like a chamberpot, the pipe over the basin obviously poured water into it, and the bath operated much on the same principle. laundry had been harder, but she'd watched at the inn. she's still not sure how to use the dishwasher, but nobody seems to be able to tell her what she's doing wrong.]
They turn hot and cold, for washing. It's much easier than having to heat it all in a kettle. You can fill a bath very quickly with the pipes.
no subject
They have something only for washing hands. Are we meant to act like pampered nobles by lounging around and washing all day?

[ Is this a full answer to his question?
Not really. But plenty of people seem to actually be explaining this in a serious way, so Ange can't help but instead remark this. Her voice sounds so flat and emotionless as she says it too, making it really hard to tell whether she's serious about that or not. ]

Angle, or Saxon?

Neither. My family is originally from the Kingdom of France although we moved to Wallachia a few hundred years ago.
