[Video opens up and its the Disaster house...isn't it? Or maybe its Halloween somehow making its way into the house. There are skeletons and zombie facsimiles all over the front of the house, ravens and colors of orange and black all over the top portion. Someone is very much using their ability to fly to make sure the house looks as complete as possible.

The backyard has a faux cemetery because of course it does, and currently putting up tombstones is one Luz Noceda, in a cat skull mask, and she waves to all of you].

Hey! Sooo...in light of getting back into my regular sleeping pattern, I learned that we have something like a certain festive holiday back home, except its all about hiding your face! There's folklore that reminds me a little of Samhain with the whole keeping away bad spirits, so I figure: why not get into the spirit, and meld that sentiment with Halloween from back home?

So over at the house I'll be doing my best to keep things creepy: eyeballs, fake blood, creepy music, the whole deal. Kinda helps with the ambiance, and so far? Nothing really bad has happened yet!

Granted, gotta keep it that way too! Part of this is for the fun, part is for, well, you never know? In case spooks around here aren't just made up.

[Look, she had a whole ordeal on a boat with dead bodies. Letting her naivete fool her is just dumb at this point].

Hope I see you guys getting into the spirit too! Do you all have a version of Halloween where you come from?

There were pumpkins here as well, on the Boardwalk. And more talk of evil spirits.

[So interesting parallels. How much of this world is an amalgam of the worlds it's stolen people from? Hmm.]

Pumpkins are just pumpkins. It's Jack O lanterns that give them that extra flair!

[Luz was a traditionalist in that way].

In the old days, yes. Mostly now, people just give the candy...though now I think about it, if you didn't give, they'd toilet paper your house of leaving a bag of dog poop in your front step.

Ah I see, my mistake.

[He wrinkles his nose at that.] Well, I've heard of more pleasant pranks, but that's certainly something.

I'm Kaeya, incidentally. What's your name?

An easy mistake to make! Pumpkins are appreciated anyway, just more effective when they're a carved out gourd. It's like you're infusing them with the holiday spirit!

[She nodded]. I was always more about the getting candy and enjoying the holiday anyway. Dressing up was always fun.

Certainly more festive. I might have to try my hand at carving one.

Oh, I've only been here a month and a few weeks, but I do happen to know a lot of Sleepers from the town before. Additionally, last month I was kinda running around all over the city because of my insomnia, so I've started to get to know the place a bit more!

Oh? I'd like that. I can't promise any artistic talent, but I'll be an attentive student.

I see. Master Diluc spoke of a place before this as well where the Sleepers had been. I imagine it may be the same place?

Oh, you'll be fine! Carving pumpkins is a favorite of mine, I won't let you down!

Yes, it was. Be glad you didn't live there. I only did six months, but I can tell you that it felt much longer, and the nights could last, well, a long time.

I've heard a few things about it. It certainly doesn't sound like a hospitable place.

During the last month it was pretty much torture and lots of flying and traps. We were lucky to get out when we did.

I'd say so, although there are a new crop of problems to deal with now.

So it seems. But I guess at the very least we won't be bored.

[That's... probably something? Maybe?]

I have been a lot of things in Trench and Deerington. "Bored" has never been one of them.

But that's not always a good thing.

[Kaeya laughs at that, spreading his hands in a bit of a shrug.]

No, it certainly is not. Little help for it though. Whatever is thrown at us, I suppose we'll have to figure out how to manage.

Oh, I always try to find a way. I was lucky enough to not get killed in Deerington, even though I was there for about six months! I'd love to keep that the same if I could.

[Granted, not dying didn't include all the trauma inflicted, but details, details].

Ah.... That is a good goal.

[And a very low bar. And this girl is a kid who shouldn't have to think about that sort of thing. Not okay, so far as Kaeya is concerned.]

I'd highly recommend avoiding death in general.
