Hello!  I am Hank, new from Los Angeles, at least I think I am?  Squid thing was...very strange.  But I have found good place to live and clothes, so can't be totally bad, yes?

And I have a cat now.  Which is strange but I always thought I might be cat person.  Thank you to whoever left cat!  She is very sweet, I have named her Tatiana.  Good name.  Had a baba named Tatiana.

Anyway.  Hello!  Seems like fun place to be, even if Barry is Grumpy Gary about it.  Looking forward to meeting of you all!

Los Angeles is very big and very friendly. Very warm, lots of palm trees. Great place to live really!

That's... definitely an optimistic way of seeing it. [He doesn't really want to crush that optimism, he doesn't have the heart, but-] Buuut you should be prepared all the same, this place isn't always... well. Sometimes it can be really dangerous. Or soul0crushing. It does that, too.

Mnn! Cats are really independent! But still super loving! They don't need as much constant care and are less expensive than dogs.

[Barry's house is pretty bare on the bottom floor with most of those rooms unfurnished. He took a top-level room to have a sniper's nest which wouldn't surprise Hank but the rest of the fixtures are depressing, like divorced middle-aged bachelor sad and he's made no effort to fix it. The kitchen has one can of beans in it and a half a pack of beer, welcome to the depression hole.]

Is that cat gonna need food or something?

[ Hank was all too happy to settle in, regardless of Barry's feelings about it, but given the state of the place he tuts reprovingly. He'll definitely need to fix things, it's just so....sad. Tatiana wanders around the space before hopping up onto the countertop despite Hank's clicked tongue of disapproval. ]

I would assume so? It is cat, cats need to eat.

So, like kibble? I can grab a bag of that the next time I go out, or maybe something like it. I don't know what this place offers for pets.

[Barry hadn't really made the same effort to explore here as he had back in Deerington. He knew that place, understood it, but this place was too large and when he showed up all he wanted to do was sleep and drink as proven by the state of his home.]

I would assume they must have something. Place gave me cat, there must therefore be food available for cat.

[ A beat, considering; it's not like he's ever actually had a cat before. Or any pet, really, besides the stray dog he fed for a week before it disappeared under the rubble of the next house over. ]

...What do cats eat, anyway? Isn't kibble for dogs?
