cause — you know what, i don't actually have a funny answer. something about being dramatic, blah blah. real answer is, back home a lot of people are still targeted by hate groups and oppressed by governing rules for a whole slew of shit including being gay, or trans, or really anything that isn't "like them" and their bullshit Christian values.

pride as its called now stared a long time ago with the stonewall riots. it was uh. [ processing... when the fuck was it? ] early seventies, i think. 1970's. maybe a little earlier? anyway. police would raid all kinds of queer parlors, stonewall inn was a gay bar and a handful of people fought back.

Why does the government care who you are or who you love? I know of tribes that have cultural obligations - to continue the species and all of that - but none that really... care about that sort of thing to my knowledge.
