[ The feed clicks on to reveal a blonde woman with green eyes staring into the camera. It takes a few moments before she adjusts the angle to give a better view of her face, one that it isn't so close up. She gives a warm smile. ]
Sorry about that! Still, getting used to this, uh, device.
[ Her accent is unmistakenly American. ]
Anyway. I'm Laurel Lance and I've been here for a little over a week now. Not going to lie, it's been a lot to take in, but I think I'm getting there. I just have a couple of questions for people.
Firstly, where has the best coffee?
Secondly, is there a gym or something like it around?
Last but not least, I'm wondering if there's a need for legal advice in this place. I'm a lawyer back home.
Thank you for taking the time to listen.
[ With that, Laurel ends the feed. ]

[ She was grateful for his help back home. Sara was better and everything was as it should be. Though Laurel wouldn't exactly consider them close, she is open to the idea of getting to know him here.
The smile is returned. ]
Trust me. I will do what I can to find some coffee. Tea would be fine, but I'm gonna pass on the whiskey.
[ The mention of yoga has her quirking an eyebrow. ]
Yoga classes, really? I'll get back to you on that.

[ He was glad to offer it. Even if it was less offering and more a favor owed to Oliver. Theirs might've been a passing thing, but she'd proven herself to be capable. After all, Sara was here, wasn't she? ]
Then I'll consider myself in your debt in advance and I don't say that lightly. Tea it is, you want to stop by we can have a proper chinwag.
[ He laughs, head dropping down at the questioning. ]
Is that so hard to believe? I may not do all that running around nonsense and gym memberships you hero types go in for but that doesn't mean I don't do anything at all.

[ She hasn't spent a lot of time around people who came from where John is from so it's Laurel's best guess for the time being. ]
Guess it is a little hard to believe, but then again, I don't know you that well so I can't say for sure what your training regimen would be.
[ There's a slightly sheepish look. ]
I never found the time for yoga. Between training with Nyssa, boxing with Ted and my day job, I was pretty tied up.
Now I'm realising that you probably don't know who either of those people are.

[ It's not a bad guess. ]
Up until a few months ago, my training regimen was restricted to yoga in the mornings and a half pack of ciggies. While possibly hungover or still drunk.
[ What? Just being honest. His cheeks puff out as he blows out a breath and shrugs helplessly. ]
Ah, no not really. Sound like good people especially if they helped keep you on your toes.
