[ The feed clicks on to reveal a blonde woman with green eyes staring into the camera. It takes a few moments before she adjusts the angle to give a better view of her face, one that it isn't so close up. She gives a warm smile. ]

Sorry about that! Still, getting used to this, uh, device.

[ Her accent is unmistakenly American. ]

Anyway. I'm Laurel Lance and I've been here for a little over a week now. Not going to lie, it's been a lot to take in, but I think I'm getting there. I just have a couple of questions for people.

Firstly, where has the best coffee?

Secondly, is there a gym or something like it around?

Last but not least, I'm wondering if there's a need for legal advice in this place. I'm a lawyer back home.

Too long.

How do you cope with something like that? Asking for a friend.

Uh, I drank. I got into fights. Kind of ignored it.

( he's probably not the person you wanna emulate. )

Every time I did anything other than that, I got burned. So, seemed easier this way.

I get it.

[ The drinking more so than the fighting. Pushing people away for a while until she got better. ]

What about friends? I mean, talking to people might help you deal with things.

Most of them disappeared.

( he says it with a detached sort of acceptance. he'd had friends but a lot of them were gone now. )

I had some but don't know where they're at now.

[ She looks concerned for a moment. ]

I'm sorry to hear that.

[ Laurel can't imagine a world without her friends or family around. ]

Well, if you ever want someone to talk to, even about trivial things, I'll be around.
