001 Video: FilledwithSunshine

[At first, the image is that of just an absolutely giant stag. The stag's antlers are absolutely covered in songbirds, crows, ravens, and even a hawk, while a squirrel and chipmunk sit on his back next to a raccoon. And that's just some of the animals, there are creatures that look much meaner and nastier with infinitely harsher fangs and claws and mass. The stag huffs and shakes his head, the birds fly up for only a few seconds before going back to sitting on his antlers.]

...Now then, did I get it right this time?

[There are resounding tweets and chirps and squeaks and outright screeches from the animals.]

Oh! Wonderful!

[The picture turns around and then Snow White smiles bright and wide at the camera.]

Why hello there! It's so wonderful to meet you all! Or well, not meet you, not yet! [She giggles.] But I hope to meet you all properly soon.

My name is Snow White!

I was hoping someone here might have a very definite answer for a question I have! You see, I just arrived here not too long ago, but I'm not sure if this is the afterlife for all of us or not.

[Straight to the point this one.]

Some have said yes, others have said no! So I'm afraid I simply just don't know! I was so sure I was dead, after all, but what wonderful news it would be to know I'm not!

Would someone be so kind as to let me know? [Snow White asks all of this with a bright and cheerful smile. For a girl who thinks she's dead, she's frighteningly cheerful.

[See, Luz KNEW this, but Snow didn't KNOW that she knew that, and it would only confuse her if Luz tried telling her she was a character in a fairy tale. This way she could at least get the bonafide Snow White side of things].

How come? What did she have against you being around people?

Oh, she didn't want anyone to help me. I think she worried it might spoil me. [That is not why. But Snow legitimately doesn't know what she did to cause her stepmother to hate her.]

But that's kind of bad, isn't it? That means you don't get exposed to anything outside, so you get sheltered. Why would she want that?

[OK, Luz could guess why, but she figured it might be better for Snow to reach that conclusion herself].

[Snow tilts her head, not catching the things Luz apparently wants her to, and why should she? She had functioned for years on the belief that it was a privilege just being ALLOWED to live.

In truth, the reality was there was always going to be a point where the queen would likely have killed her. Snow likely wasn't meant to live past a certain age, so why would the queen care about teaching her about being a good monarch. And who in Snow's kingdom was going to stop a woman able to spy into any household and unearth any plot, using magic to weed out whomever and whatever she pleased?]

I couldn't say. [Is all Snow could offer in return.] But as I said, it's fine, I haven't seen her in weeks! And I'm sure she won't come here.

[imaglyphwitch]

[Luz sighed. How was she even going to explain that kids had the right to autonomy to someone who'd been taken from all of that since she was young? Of course if someone told you that what they were doing was right, you'd believe them].

OK. I wouldn't say it's fine that you were treated that way, but you ARE here now, and you're free to do whatever you want. So what is it that you want to do?

[onebadapple]

[Oh no no, Snow never believed it was right, but you don't argue with the queen if you enjoy being alive and Snow deeply enjoyed not being dead.]

Well, I'd like to make more friends. Oh! And maybe even learn more things!

[imaglyphwitch]

[It would probably be a good thing if that queen never came here, but Luz couldn't even imagine why this place would do something like that. Either way, she knew getting Snow to realize how horrible the Queen was would be a slow process].

Trust me, you'll definitely have the chance to do both here! I know there's a school, and there's even a big library if books are your thing!

I've never been to school before. That sounds like fun!

I have no idea! I've only gone to school in my world, and then magical school in the next world I went to! I haven't seen this world's version of school yet.

[onebadapple]

Would you like to come to school with me?

[imaglyphwitch]

Who, me? Oh, I don't know, I have a lot to do in the house already! I mean, maybe if its different from a typical 8-3 duration time?

Besides, I have to see if its manageable with my other schooling. I'm learning hopefully more magic from a witch here!

That's alright. I'm sure we'll cross paths in other ways.

Hey, you never know! You might catch me popping in on a few classes!
