[At first, the image is that of just an absolutely giant stag. The stag's antlers are absolutely covered in songbirds, crows, ravens, and even a hawk, while a squirrel and chipmunk sit on his back next to a raccoon. And that's just some of the animals, there are creatures that look much meaner and nastier with infinitely harsher fangs and claws and mass. The stag huffs and shakes his head, the birds fly up for only a few seconds before going back to sitting on his antlers.]

...Now then, did I get it right this time?

[There are resounding tweets and chirps and squeaks and outright screeches from the animals.]

Oh! Wonderful!

[The picture turns around and then Snow White smiles bright and wide at the camera.]

Why hello there! It's so wonderful to meet you all! Or well, not meet you, not yet! [She giggles.] But I hope to meet you all properly soon.

I was hoping someone here might have a very definite answer for a question I have! You see, I just arrived here not too long ago, but I'm not sure if this is the afterlife for all of us or not.

Some have said yes, others have said no! So I'm afraid I simply just don't know! I was so sure I was dead, after all, but what wonderful news it would be to know I'm not!

Likewise, and yeah, I'm fine thanks. I found my house from the dream world so me and my housemates are settling in fine.

[Well, neither him nor Luz are sleeping and Fern isn't getting the correct nutrients to stay healthy but he's pretty sure Luca and Reaper are ok!!! Those descriptions match those people, but Varian just... doesn't quite pick up on that except in a 'oh those sound like some of my housemates' kind of way.]

Hmm? Oh, my stepmother is trying to kill me. And just before I arrived, she did just that with a poisoned apple! You see, that's why I thought I was in the afterlife. But I'm much safer now that we're literal worlds apart.

I don't know, maybe? I know my house was part of the dream realm- it wasn't in my homeworld. I don't know if that makes a difference? But yeah, it's good we can work together.

[Sigh.]

Yeah, that's Fern, he's my boyfriend. [It's completely Fern. 100%. He doesn't know any other knight in the history of ever who'd use the word 'dingus' in all sincerity.] It doesn't mean bell.

I wouldn't know! [She giggles, perfectly good-natured about her ignorance on the subject. She's very used to not knowing plenty of things.] But isn't it wonderful that it's here all the same?

Oh, how lovely! [Not that Snow knows the implications of what a boyfriend is besides a boy who is also a friend. If Varian said they were courting, she'd understand better.] Oh, what does it mean, then?

Hmm? Oh! Yes, well, the apple was the second attempt. She first sent the royal huntsman after me to cut out my heart. But he was kind enough to spare me. [Which... considering what her stepmother may do to him for NOT killing her? That is sincere kindness.] To be quite honest, Varian, I don't really know! The huntsman said she was mad with jealousy but I don't really know what the queen would be jealous of! [Snow White's self-esteem is... well, let's just say it's infinitely lower than a certain other sequestered, sheltered princess.]

Hah, yeah. And yeah, it is. All my stuff is there, and it means me and the people I live with don't have to try and find somewhere else to live.

[It's one of the few easy things this city has given them and he's glad for it. That's absolutely what Fern is. Yup. A Boy. That's a friend. ]

It means stupid. Like... an idiot.

[Look, he knows plenty of Ooo slang. Fern sends him lists of it on the regular.

And now he's just listening to Snow's story and he honestly never thought there would be a mother figure worse than Gothel (because she was pretty damn awful) and now he's being proven wrong. He takes very little comfort in that fact. ]

Uh- she was jealous of her own daughter? That's- to the point where she tries to kill you? That's insane! No mother should do that, step or otherwise. What the heck?

Oh, finding a new place to live can be very hard, especially if you're in a place you've never been before! I know exactly how that feels... twice now! [She giggles. It's not ACTUALLY funny, being exiled and all and then arriving in Trench, but hey, Snow White doesn't do sad for more than an hour at the best of times.] I've found a lovely place though.

Oh, I see... but that isn't very nice. I wish I had known that when he said it. [She'd have asked him not to call her stepmother that.]

Mnn, I'm really not sure what I ever did to upset her. She's not liked me for as long as I can remember. Although, wanting to kill me was only just recently, I admit.

Being through it once is bad enough, honestly. Sorry that you had to go through it twice.

To be fair, it kinda sounds like she deserved it? Probably worse than that. Did you tell him about the attempted murder thing?

[In Snow's case, the jealousy came from existing, thus the only way to help the matter, in her stepmother's opinion, was being killed.]

Well, all the same, I wish I knew. I might be able to at least try and speak with her about it if I knew. [Which would ultimately be useless because Queen Grimhilde does not care to reason.]

No, but it doesn't change it either, and even if things are bad, other things need to be taken care of. I couldn't just sit and be upset about this happening again, after all. I needed to find shelter, and there was the matter of food and an empty belly. I can't very well bite into my poisoned apple again. [Snow is ridiculously pragmatic and practical even with all her relentless optimism. She has to be.]

Oh, that's very kind of him. But my treatment was all in the past. It's not happening anymore, so I'm alright.

I... she was always rather strict in her punishments.

Well, there's no point in focusing on it not being fair, it doesn't much change it. [Life has not really ever been fair to Snow until just recently?]

OH! Well, I slept in run-down one for a few nights. It even had most of the roof, which with all the rain of late is very important. So an empty one is important. My animal friends are helping me look, but I won't say no to the help if you have an idea on where I can find one?

Oh! I didn't know! But I haven't even that. I suppose I could find some very pretty shells and rocks on the beach. I'm trying to learn an entirely new country. [On top of her sheltered background.]

Yes! Okay, yes definitely, I will help you find somewhere to live, jeez! Please let me help you find somewhere to live. If nothing else, we have rooms in my house if you need it for a while, but definitely don't live in run-down houses, please.

Yeah the...beach is...relatively safe? But steer clear of anything called The Gates, okay? They're... people are getting hurt there.
