It is odd - coming up to my first month here, it has been the longest I have ever stayed in a single place for quite some time. As the colder season approaches, one must rapidly come to terms with the fact an itinerant lifestyle is no longer sustainable. After all, the jaws of winter claim far more than the jaws of beasts.
Fortunately, I have found a suitable residence in Ache - according to the locals, the former owner was taken about five years ago by something dreadful and it has remained empty ever since.
The farmhouse does cut a rather peculiar sight - a newer building conjoined onto a significantly older one and though both are in dire need of repairs, the older structure has weathered its neglect far better than the newer one. For now, I am staying in the old building, but I would much prefer to repurpose it into a proper apothecary, and use the newer structure as living quarters.
If there is anyone with tools or the skills to help with the needed repairs, I have several means of compensation, including incense, medicine, omamori, blood jewels, and food from the cherry, chestnut and persimmon trees, and various gourds growing around the farmhouse.
For the extent of the damage, I have taken some photographs. I apologize for any poor quality; I am rather new to using a camera.

The kitchen area is relatively undamaged. But this is about the only part of the newer building that has not been dealt a terrible blow.

The tatami room has seen the worst of it; it seems this is where whatever took the previous owner broke in. As you can see the damage is extensive. The bathroom is also what one might describe as 'in a state'. Upstairs, the damage is more manageable, though I would appreciate any assistance in getting rid of the musty old furniture.
On a brighter note; with the new lifestyle that comes with my arrival to Trench and being, quite literally, stripped of most of my worldly possessions, I have finally gotten around to updating my wardrobe to be more in line with current, 20th century fashions. It is a shame I could not find one of those cloche hats that are so popular among young people these days, however. They are quite fetching.
I would ask the opinion of the more fashion forward among you if I have gotten the style correct; I would rather not be mistaken for a sandwich board salesman ever again.

You know, I think I rather like playing with the camera on this.

D --> I believe that I can supply parts as required for repairs
D --> To an e%tent I have some of the skills necessary though my specialty is advanced engineering and robotics
D --> A trade could probably be managed
D --> I have no understanding of human fashion so I will refrain from comment on the latter

Also how does one change the colour of their text?

D --> To clear up any confusion
D --> I have an ability I refer to as Alchemization which I acquired in my travels
D --> I draw a creation and bring it into e%istence from the paper
D --> There is a limited amount of this that I can do in a solar day
D --> So we would determine how much you need created and that would give us an idea on trade
D --> But I am not actually fussed on equal trade
D --> I have learned that mutually assured survival is worth more than e%act quantities of wealth

꧁Oh, like this? It is rather fetching. And do not worry. I am much more fond of pastels.꧂
꧁I would not wish to overtax you - my biggest concerns are the support beams in the tatami room. Four of them are riddled with damp and rot and if there is an easier way to replace them than removing each one by one, it would be much appreciated.꧂

D --> It reminds me of a relation of a distant and e%tremely annoying associate
D --> If you are something of a know-it-all it is a perfect style to match their personality
D --> You will refine the style s00n enough
D --> We are e%pected to do so from a young age in my culture
D --> Ah, you require tooled and worked raw materials
D --> That's easy enough, but I will require measurements to get them right
D --> I will stop by this hive of yours and get those measurements before drawing to produce the needed beams
D --> Pounding them into place is within my capacities as well
D --> I would advise a dehumidifier if there is rot
no subject
That sounds agreeable; I can help with any heavy lifting and such, but I am unfortunately at a loss when it comes to the finer points of construction.
I will certainly be looking into a dehumidifier once I have repaired the shoji leading outdoors and replaced the tatami mats.

D --> It was seen as an embracing of ones true role in society
D --> Our colors are tied to bl00d type which is the source of caste
D --> Individualization is owning ones role in the process
D --> The society had significant errors structurally but we are creatures of habit
D --> An e%cellent idea and an additional set of solid hands will assist
D --> I have ample STRENGTH to lift a beam but stabilizing would be useful in ensuring that the pieces are properly placed

Is your culture going through some degree of upheaval? I have lived through many such things; traditions will linger long after later generations have forgotten why they were practiced to begin with.
I can hold things steady enough, but I will have to trust the judgment of others on the finer points of carpentry.

D --> It was innately more ornate than most I have encountered of that sort
D --> My culture was destroyed by a meteoric shower that obliterated the means of propagation and the majority of its population
D --> The process of its rebuilding is being led by someone not enamored of the culture
D --> Which is for the best
D --> We will work together well in this I think
no subject
Perhaps it is the nature of text, but you do not seem particularly bereft by this loss of people and culture.
no subject
D --> But that is neither here nor there and not especially important
D --> My feelings on this are complicated
D --> There is a certain tragedy to it but I have become more aware of the inherent issues with the culture in my time away from it
no subject
Were you part of the reconstruction effort before being brought here?
no subject
D --> I have yet to meet one who does not behave with certain consistency
D --> Oh no
D --> I was quite e%pired by the time that Karkat began to initiate reforms
D --> Difficult to engender social change when one is bereft of e%istence outside of dream bubbles with the rest of the dead
no subject
My apologies, I did not realize that you were a ghost.

D --> Several e%amples of royalty were trapped in that city
D --> The one called Uther was tolerable
D --> Not e%actly
D --> I still bear a corporeal body and my e%istence in Asgard was one of physical life in the traditional sense
D --> So it is perhaps best to say I was resurrected in some fashion there
D --> And after a fashion in my own world
D --> It is complicated
no subject
Death does not seem to be a permanent state for us sleepers either. I should have assumed you had been resurrected.
no subject
D --> That makes it simpler
D --> How to e%plain
D --> The Holy City of Asgard was the dwelling place of the Aesir and their people
D --> Situated on the trunk of the tree Yggdrassil it waged war with the giants
D --> Denizens of various worlds were drawn in during a desperate effort to return life in its waning years to the city
D --> We were summoned as part of their apocalypse
D --> I was summoned immediately after my e%piration
D --> There are similarities to this realm and I do not believe that the e%perience is unique to these two worlds
D --> I have been attempting to hypothesize something regarding what I witnessed but I will collect more data
D --> Dimensional physics is more other peoples field of e%pertise
D --> I apologize if I am wa%ing technical
D --> It happens occasionally
