It is odd - coming up to my first month here, it has been the longest I have ever stayed in a single place for quite some time. As the colder season approaches, one must rapidly come to terms with the fact an itinerant lifestyle is no longer sustainable. After all, the jaws of winter claim far more than the jaws of beasts.
Fortunately, I have found a suitable residence in Ache - according to the locals, the former owner was taken about five years ago by something dreadful and it has remained empty ever since.
The farmhouse does cut a rather peculiar sight - a newer building conjoined onto a significantly older one and though both are in dire need of repairs, the older structure has weathered its neglect far better than the newer one. For now, I am staying in the old building, but I would much prefer to repurpose it into a proper apothecary, and use the newer structure as living quarters.
If there is anyone with tools or the skills to help with the needed repairs, I have several means of compensation, including incense, medicine, omamori, blood jewels, and food from the cherry, chestnut and persimmon trees, and various gourds growing around the farmhouse.
For the extent of the damage, I have taken some photographs. I apologize for any poor quality; I am rather new to using a camera.

The kitchen area is relatively undamaged. But this is about the only part of the newer building that has not been dealt a terrible blow.

The tatami room has seen the worst of it; it seems this is where whatever took the previous owner broke in. As you can see the damage is extensive. The bathroom is also what one might describe as 'in a state'. Upstairs, the damage is more manageable, though I would appreciate any assistance in getting rid of the musty old furniture.
On a brighter note; with the new lifestyle that comes with my arrival to Trench and being, quite literally, stripped of most of my worldly possessions, I have finally gotten around to updating my wardrobe to be more in line with current, 20th century fashions. It is a shame I could not find one of those cloche hats that are so popular among young people these days, however. They are quite fetching.
I would ask the opinion of the more fashion forward among you if I have gotten the style correct; I would rather not be mistaken for a sandwich board salesman ever again.

You know, I think I rather like playing with the camera on this.

D --> I believe that I can supply parts as required for repairs
D --> To an e%tent I have some of the skills necessary though my specialty is advanced engineering and robotics
D --> A trade could probably be managed
D --> I have no understanding of human fashion so I will refrain from comment on the latter

Also how does one change the colour of their text?

D --> To clear up any confusion
D --> I have an ability I refer to as Alchemization which I acquired in my travels
D --> I draw a creation and bring it into e%istence from the paper
D --> There is a limited amount of this that I can do in a solar day
D --> So we would determine how much you need created and that would give us an idea on trade
D --> But I am not actually fussed on equal trade
D --> I have learned that mutually assured survival is worth more than e%act quantities of wealth

꧁Oh, like this? It is rather fetching. And do not worry. I am much more fond of pastels.꧂
꧁I would not wish to overtax you - my biggest concerns are the support beams in the tatami room. Four of them are riddled with damp and rot and if there is an easier way to replace them than removing each one by one, it would be much appreciated.꧂

I'm not so good specifically with repairs, but I can certainly offer to help clean, if you need it! It might help to organize what can be salvaged versus what should be thrown out or entirely repurposed.
Text | UN : Medicinal
Unfortunately, most of what would be salvageable would be firewood. Most of the furniture is too dirty or damp to simply clean; though you are welcome to anything that may have survived.

Firewood is still plenty useful, with winter on its way, at least. I'd be happy to help, and if there's anything you really wish could be fixed or cleaned, I'll do my very best.
no subject
I would not ask you to over stress yourself - my current projects right now are clearing out the debris, and refitting the paneling on the shoji, so having an extra pair of hands in that regard would be most appreciated.

But I'm curious about the compensation... you wouldn't happen to have good taste in drinks, would you?
Text | UN : Medicinal
And my taste in drinks is exceptional; I cannot say that the liquor in Trench measures up, however.
no subject
You haven't found anything particularly good? Or at least... easily drinkable?

If you're still looking for a contractor I live in Ache and have a background in construction.
Text | UN : Medicinal
But if you have a background in construction, however, even an assessment would be most helpful. I am particularly concerned with regards to several of the supports; there is, as one would expect, rot, but I have no means of finding out how deeply it goes.
no subject
Not a problem, I can have a look for you. From the sound of it though, old and rot mean big structural damage and a lot of replacing.

Another gentleman also offered to help, but I expect three pairs of hands will make this go far faster than two.

Tell me more about these protective charms and Paleblood gems. What qualities do they have?
