text - UN: IceCream (CW mention of drowning risks)
[Well, this one didn't put up public service messages often, did she? But, if there was a remote chance your spouse might show up one day in the heart of winter, well... you'd probably do it too.]
Right, so, if we're all done having oodles of fun running for our lives from crazy nutjobs in this maze of a town, I've got something we should all be thinking about. (Also, thank you Trench. I knew you'd deliver. I was almost bored there for a moment. Now this place feels like a nightmare.)
I saw something on my window while I was recovering from my last maze run. Frost. You know, that pretty white stuff that forms on your windowsills and makes you people all silly with this holiday spirit or whatever? Nice stuff. Gorgeous. So idyllic. Yeah, where there's frost, there's ice. And ice likes to form on top of water. If you haven't figured out where I'm going with this?
I'm taking bets on whether or not you think the coastline's gonna freeze for the next two months. Your first bet doesn't count. Everyone's a winner. Your prize? Grab a pickaxe.
That's right, dumb dumbs. Squids seem to show up at the same time we showed up in the dream. Very end of the month and first week of the month, and if that coast freezes, they're going to pound right into a sheet of ice. Get blankets, start fires, grab a pickaxe. Also, maybe flares or burning arrows wouldn't be a bad idea. Folks can come to you if you find a squid and need help. I have five I got lucky enough to have in my backpack and I intend to use them. Unless you want next month's new arrivals to drown in the water and/or freeze to death. And if you do? I recommend not replying to this. I'm not in the best of moods.
And if one of you hero types feels like actually organizing this thing, go for it. You know where I'll be.

this can't be the first time it's happened but no one talks about other countries

Not really worried about the boats if you ask me.
But they're probably some sort of weird appearance.
They'll be gone soon.

I probably wouldn't have thought about it until it was too late.
I can see if we can get a couple teams set up at the shore line or on the coast if it ends up freezing over.
It can be like ice fishing but for people instead of fish.
...Unless there are fish people who need to be saved too.
I'm not judging.
no subject
There's more than a few people who you're going to want to watch out for.
And you just know there's going to be a fish person needing saving one day.
no subject
I mean I wouldn't leave anyone hanging if I could help it.
But we've got a family to hopefully reassemble.
I promise to try and not scream the second I see one.

I can make some chemical formulas, try and break through the ice without exploding it and potentially burning our newcomers to death before they've even got to shore. Something to get through to them quickly, you know.
no subject
We both know that's not how anything here works, so it's safe to assume the place isn't changing.
I'm definitely not about to say no to you sciencing this thing up.
As long as we break through the ice.
no subject
I can definitely break through the ice. With minimal injury which I think we need. I'm definitely not the person to organise anything, but I'll be out there all the same.

[That depended entirely on how thick it was though. There was a reason the elements weren't really under the Force's jurisdiction, nature was a power unto herself.]
Or just cut a hole through with one of my lightsabers.
Re: Text; un: darkness
It makes it tough to survive with horrifying crap in the woodwork, so obviously this is it.
That power of yours might be the trick early on, but I think your lightsaber will help a lot.
Thinking of joining me out on the ice I take it?
There's nobody you're waiting for, is there?

If there's something out there to make a perfectly unpleasant thing worse?
At some point, there will be something that does exactly that.
I've been afraid this would happen for a bit.

So, if you know any coldbloods wasting their perfectly good talents send their lazy asses when it freezes.
As for flamethrowers those are in short supply, sadly.
Not nearly enough fuel for that trick and no styrofoam to go with the gasoline.

But you're correct; we cannot allow any new arrivals to suffer, given they'll already be dangerously cold even if they aren't coming out of frozen water.
no subject
So let's just err on the side of caution and assume that salt water absolutely freezes here.
And that's pretty much a given, but I imagine we'll have help at least with warming stations.
The locals have been good for that.

altho i mean it's pretty fucking unlikely the ocean will freeze entirely. i suppose it might extend the coast tho and if people wash up too far away they could die of exposure before reaching the real beach.
regardless we should definitely set up basically ice fishing stations. you've done this before?
no subject
And no, ice fishing is a new one for me, so this will be an experience.
Freezing our asses off and worrying on the ice.
Bring cocoa.

Can Earth squids freeze?
no subject
What i'm versed in is this town being an absolute bag of dicks when we don't need it.
So I'm going to assume that these squids can freeze or drown.
Because that would be bad.
So of course it's the case.

I can make my sword burn. I'll do what I can to carve shit up if things start to freeze over.
I can keep it going for as long as I still have blood in me.
Which is just one huge question mark all over. But probably longer than a flare.
Re: text; username: grollschwert
But a fire sword, along with lightsabers and other tricks will do lots better than pickaxes.
Maybe I should get an enchanted pickaxe.
or is that a total waste?

There's usually some sort of crap that is meant to scare the bajeezus out of us.
And oceans frozen over with our friends trying to get out does the trick.
I think, normally, it might be too far south.
But those rules don't apply here, trust me.
