That's a complicated question. I don't believe my creator fully understood why he was doing it when he was doing it, just that he had to do it. What about you? Was it purely an experiment?

Purely an experiment. I do not know if my creation was their intention. Or perhaps it was the intention of the committee and the people performing it on their behalf had no idea. Either way, their recklessness caused the death of nearly half the planet.

I have compassion for contorted sentient life, I guess. I've been responsible for that and I guess I have a guilt complex over it now.

I wouldn't try to understand it. I don't display typical human behavior. I was not raised with humans.

With a computer and because I wanted to see if it was possible. It was also useful. I created artificial intelligence to help me with my work.

It can be. But from my experience, other sentient beings are equally capable of cruelty and falsehood. They just find different justifications.
