Turning 21 has been a completely underrated experience. I was expecting the blackout and loss of time. Even the warping to a new place isn't out of the realm of estimated probability.

But being genetically altered is a plot twist. I assume it is so we can fuck the monsters.

I call dibs on the raven dude.

cw: looots of kink/fetish/nsfw jokes/conversation going on in this here post.

They were and not right away.
We did have a few change their mind as things went along.

It's kind of a seperate group of defenders our world has. We have these monsters called Grimm. Huntsmen are supposed to protect people from them, without being bound to any one kingdom. Atlas is the one exception to that and tends to horde a lot of them to themselves.

I actually don't really know. Global communications have been down in my world for awhile. We managed to get them up long enough for me to send out a message, but it got cut off before it could finish. So I'm not really sure.

He is human! But he can also be a bird sometimes.
How old are you?

[Some distant part of him is still capable of visceral disgust at hearing that not right away.

He reminds himself those soldiers were under pressures he knows nothing about, on a world he knows nothing about. They were doubtless lied to, propagandized; maybe they believed their families would be safe, or that their Prince leader had planned more than a shameless self-serving retreat.

It doesn't quite work. A few really seals it.

What price did Atlas offer for that kind of loyalty if you weren't supposed to bind yourself?

If you ever do find out, I'd like to know.

Somewhere in my six-hundred-fifties before I died. Four or five years after that.
