Hello.
My name is Naruhodo Ryunosuke. I'm still relatively new to this so please forgive me if I make any mistakes. I'm looking for someone who could teach me how to use a katana. I've been lucky enough that I have the weapon but I have no idea how to wield it properly. After recent events, I think it would best to learn how to use it.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Actually the Omni seems like. Even more advanced than what I've got back home.
I mean, mostly in form, but still.
Anyway, yeah, pretend you just went on the Omni and searched for "cool sword lessons".
That's kind of what I've got going on in my head.
Every cool sword lesson that 10,000 years in the future can provide.

It's far more advanced than what I'm used to.
So I apologize for my ignorance of technology.
I wasn't aware that the Omni could be utilized like an encyclopedia!
Wait.
Did you really write 10,000 years in the future?!

Welcome to Trench! Everyone is from different worlds with different times and it's wild.
Hell, I'm from two of them at once. 2021 and 11940. Don't worry about that too hard.
But you... let's see.
You know about katanas, but not about computers, so you're probably not just a weeb.
And you actually own one, but you don't exactly conduct yourself like a wealthy elite.
I'm gonna say, like, 1875? Around there?

That far in the future just seems unfathomable.
1892, actually, but you were not that far off!
London has just had its Great Exhibition with people around the world showing off their latest inventions.

Oh, cool, cool, okay.
I was thinking earlier Meiji-era, but this works too.
So what kind of cool stuff is happening in London right now where you're from?

The stereoscope is wildly popular right now, along with music boxes.
A friend of mine invented a way to distinguish different blood types, though it was not accepted as evidence in court.
Which was unfortunate, really, I thought it was quite remarkable.
no subject
Why wouldn't that be valid evidence?
We do a ton of blood testing to figure that stuff out, or at least I assume we do.
Maybe it just hasn't caught on when you're from yet, 'cause I know it's definitely a Thing in my timeline.
So you study law? Practice, I guess.
no subject
So the courts would not allow it to be used as evidence.
I'm not surprised that blood testing is used in the future.
It seems relatively straightforward as a path to find the truth.
I do. I'm a defence attorney.

I don't think we're exactly the kind of society around here that, like. Does trials?
I mean, I've done jury duty before but that was back home.
Still, good quality to have around here.
There's already been a couple, uh, scuffles around here that probably could've used someone willing to jump in and defend someone else.
no subject
I'm sure I can put my skills to use in other ways.
I've noticed a few uh... scuffles so to say.
Is that quite common?
no subject
I don't think I've ever seen so many people just, like, thrilled to rush to violence.
(And you don't know me but I promise that's a very funny thing for me personally to say.)
Maybe it's the blood in the air or something.
no subject
I don't think I have either.
It could be the blood in the air.
It does seem to permeate, doesn't it?
no subject
Not that I've got a ton of experience in it, but. I have enough.
It has a way of getting inside people and changing the way they act, the way they think.
It's cool. It's fun.
The blood typing stuff might actually be pretty useful, with all that in mind.
