Hello.
My name is Naruhodo Ryunosuke. I'm still relatively new to this so please forgive me if I make any mistakes. I'm looking for someone who could teach me how to use a katana. I've been lucky enough that I have the weapon but I have no idea how to wield it properly. After recent events, I think it would best to learn how to use it.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Also did that katana come with you or was it dug out of the beach??

It came with me.
I'd recognize it anywhere.

It belongs to my friend.
He asked me to hold onto it until he returned to Japan.

You've been learning that long? That's quite the skill to learn at such a young age.
If you don't mind I would greatly appreciate it. I'm unfortunately a novice when it comes to combat that isn't archery.

[ Flynn is so glad to see other people also having trouble with these things. They're... complicated. Especially when one spends a lot of time in gauntlets. ]
Anyway, I would be glad to teach you. It would help keep my own skills sharp and it is admittedly one of the things I miss most at home. Teaching new recruits wasn't something I got to do often, but it was always very rewarding.

Perhaps we could trade off skills.
If I can find a bow, I'd be happy to teach you the basics of archery!
I've never taught anyone so it may be a learning experience for both of us.

You want a more fun learning, tell me

he shouldn't.
And yet. ]
Yuri, if you teach him, he's going to learn all the incorrect versions of the artes. A little stiffness goes a long way toward learning proper technique.

Tell me what I'd be working with here. Are you a total novice or do you have other fighting experience?
no subject
I can use a bow, but that's the extent of my knowledge.
no subject
If you agree to train with me, it will probably hurt a lot. Just so you are aware of what you are consenting to.

I can vouch for Scifo and Lowell. tT's probably good, too, but I just met the guy.
Lowell's right, though.
You want a fun time, you go to him. He's my hunting buddy and he kicks ass at it.
I've also got some katana data downloaded right into my brain, but no clue how good I'll be at actually teaching it to someone else.
Been a long time since I've tried.

I did wonder if someone would be up to the task of teaching a novice.
I appreciate the recommendations! I would like to see their different teaching styles.
Any help that you're willing to offer is very kind.
Though, I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you mean by "downloaded".

Oh man, do you not know what computers are?
Sorry, still working around this whole different universes thing.
It's like a really big book, but in my head, and it got there from
[come on, anna, you're tech support, you should know how to explain this in a way that makes sense and doesn't sound stupid.]
the air.

I see you're being smart. Good job.
[ Yes. She's just here to say that. Look, Ange is far from a sword master, okay. ]
Why would you have a katana without knowing how to use it though?
no subject
Oh, that's because it actually belongs to my friend.
I am holding onto it for safekeeping while he studies in London.
no subject
Why did he leave behind a sword of all things?
Was he not allowed to take it along? Or did he just want you to have something to remember him by?
[ She's actually kind of curious now. ]

[Oddly enough for someone with Maul's temperament and general personality, he was very good at being a teacher. It helped that he just did everything the opposite the way that he himself had been taught by his own monstrous master Darth Sidious.]

It sounds dangerous if in the wrong hands, but it's curious that they're wielded similarly.
I've had a few people offer, but I don't see the harm in learning from others.
