[Good late morning, Trench. Have a REALLY excited Usagi (what else is new) who is finishing up wrapping something with a giant pink bow. She waves to the camera.]

YES! That's right! The amazingly beautiful, strong, talented, protective, best cook in all of Trench and I WILL fight you on that if you try to argue with me otherwise Makoto Kino has her birthday today!

So don't hesitate to wish her a happy birthday!

And for those of you who DO want to get her a gift... not that she expects one because she's Makoto and she's super humble like that, but if you want to get her something! Then she likes any and all cooking supplies, anything with pink roses on them, or hey pink roses themselves, or potted plants, and tigers!

You can pretend to be super grumpy all you want, but I know you have a bigger soft spot than Maul.

Oh! Thank you for reminding me. I have to change them for the holidays, actually. We did red, yellow, orange, and burgundy for fall but now I'm thinking SPARKLY blue and silver for wintertime! Red and green would be so lost with his skin tone.

[Usagi cannot be squeaked like Varian and Fern can, so it's just as well.]

Of course you are. You better do his toe nails as well, so I can mock him relentlessly. And green is opposite on the colour spectrum to red, so it wouldn't be bad depending on the tone of green. Then what are you talking about?

Are... are we counting the pinchy parts of his metal legs as toes now?[Why yes, she just called the talons "pinchy parts" that's how much she literally is not scared.]

I know complimentary colors, Reaper. I know what shade to use. But it's so... expected! [Usagi, meanwhile, will have sparkly, cherry red nails herself come time.]

Just how many grown adults are living with 4 teenagers, 1 of them being EVEN NICER than I am, by the way? [Absolutely nicer considering Usagi will and HAS killed. Luz? Not so much.] And I haven't met Luca but everyone says he's a sweetheart. And don't even try to use Varian and Fern as counter-arguments about how you're some sort of... whatever kind of baddie you want everyone to think you are.

You're looking after four teenagers. You don't get to be some heartless killer with that. Especially not considering three out of fours' opinions on murder.

Of course. If you don't make nails for him, how's he supposed to have better defined feet? Maybe he'd be less cranky if he had pretty toe nail paint. [He doubted it, but then again, he liked Maul being cranky. It was extremely entertaining.]

No need to get defensive. If you're talking about the talkative energetic Latina, don't even talk to me about her. I keep my door closed so I don't have to hear her chattering. [He actually didn't; he used to keep his door open a bit unless he wasn't in the house, then it would be closed. That was in the past now.] Luca is young and naïve like the rest of them. My role in the household was guard duty and making certain they don't starve, but that's over.

Joke's on you. You may be mocking it, but just consider that if he DIDN'T want it, he'd not come over and sit down long enough for me to do it. So *mneh* ┐(︶ ▽ ︶)┌ So I bet I could paint his pinchy parts.

I'm well aware. Maul is someone who values attention no matter what form it takes. No doubt he enjoys some forms over others, but attention is attention.

You can't really stop me from thinking of anything. And if you don't tell me, you realize I can just ask Fern, Varian, Luz, and even Luca if I wanted to?

So why not actually give your side of the story? You and Maul have this rather nasty habit of always going on and on about how people paint you in the ways they want but then never offering YOUR side of the situation and just going "if you don't know I'm not going to tell you." And while mind readers are definitely HERE, I'm not one of them.

Besides, you being gone doesn't really change that you were there. So why not tell me what happened instead of your constant brooding?

You're going to talk to them anyway because you're a busy-body. So you'll get whatever information you want even without my side of things. My side is that I killed a boy two years ago after he murdered one of mine. He killed me a little while back, made it public and now no one trusts me to have control of myself. Deerington and Trench mental methods don't work on me as it does on others, but my dangerous nature means I was asked to leave. So I left.

[He's not about to go into his feelings on the matter, that the entire situation involved urging him out when he wasn't in a state to defend himself. Or that being blamed for past action despite personal growth was something he had dealt with for decades. Or that he was a major grudge keeper.]

I am, yes. But I'm also particularly good at keeping secrets if asked. Or if it really bothered you and it wasn't hurting them? I'd stay out of it. Despite all the wrong things you think about me, I'm actually capable of staying out of a situation if asked.

Ah... so this is about the Lance thing. [She honestly figured it was. She just didn't have confirmation.]

That was considerate of you to leave even if it might have hurt you to do so. [It's literally the bare minimum but it's considerate all the same, people forget that the choice to make things worse is still an option for some people to take.]

I'm not going to ask about the situation with you and Lance, but if you want to talk about it with someone who about the whole thing, I'm here.
