[ The video turns on showing Shouto looking a little worse for wear. Ice creeps up his neck on his right side, and there's dark circles around his eyes. When he speaks, his breath chills the air around him turning a misty white. ]

Has anyone seen Midoriya Izuku? He has green hair, green eyes. He's [ he lifts his hand around his chin ] this tall. 

He's been missing since the monster - Kaiju - attack. I haven't seen him or been able to get in contact with him since they took down the Kaiju.

Does anyone know where he is? Even the last time you saw him could be useful information. 

Please let me know.

[ A turn of his head as he regards him a little more closely at the revelation. ]

... You can see corruption? [ A flicker to the scar. ] With your left eye?

[ Now that is something worthwhile. Kizu hums in his head. Todoroki simply nods at the proposal willing to accept any help posed his way. ]

Do you need back-up?

Yes. [ It's a simple, vague sort of answer with an equally hard to read sort of smile. ]

When it becomes dangerous.

[ But he shakes his head and waves a hand, still smiling gently. ]

No, I'll be fine. You should keep looking for the two who might have seen him.

[swellter]

[ What an odd way of putting it. Is that something blood magic can do? he asks Kizu. I'm not certain. Is the cryptic reply as both boy and omen regard that smile with uncertainty. ]

[ He's not sure if he's relieved or not when his offer is turned down. It helps that he's right. Splitting up the assignments will cover more ground at a faster pace. ]

Alright. I'll go look for them while you check the sight of the battle.

[ He likes to play his cards close to his vest. ☆

I will too. [ But he hesitates, not quite wanting to leave it at that, and weighing the situation for a moment.

And he cocks his head a bit to the side and smiles then, wholly unlike before. ]

It'll be okay. You'll find him. [ He doesn't say it like a platitude though. With an gentle and understated sort of certainty, yes -- but bittersweet. With a smile that's more sad than happy, and like someone speaking from experience. ]

Others have seen him recently. And if he has friends like you who miss and want to see him again, even if he's in danger or might have become corrupted, then he can be saved.

Even if he doesn't want to be found, if people care about and want to see him, they'll find him. As long as they keep hoping they will.

So it'll be okay.

[ Somehow, at his core, he knows that more than anything. Because it's familiar in a way that hurts a little. ]

[ The subtle difference in that smile isn't something he's versed to pick up on. Still, a smile means a positive outlook, so he regards it as such. As for the words... that's another story. ]

I know he can be saved.

[ His worry stems from Midoriya's complete absence. With no idea where he is, he's concerned that they'll get to him too late and he'll have to put down a friend, a task he's not sure he can do. ]

I won't give up on him. [ He nods in assurance. He's not someone who lets doubt cloud his judgment. He won't give up on his friend no matter how little progress he makes. ] When we find him, I'll let him know you helped search for him too.

[ Because finding him will require a group effort. Information gathered from every person. Every piece adding to the puzzle, eliminating lines of inquiry until they narrowed down the playing field to a manageable size.

Giving him one last nod, Todoroki heads out to find the two people on his list. ]

[ He's got a good attitude. Unwavering, and Allen's glad to see it. ]

[ So he gives him a nod in return, brightened, and prepares to head to the coast. ]


[ ooc: awesome! shall we say Allen most likely let him know he found the area still just saturated with the lingering corruption from everything that has transpired, and couldn't find anything distinguishable? And he can ask if he found his friend in our current catacombs thread since they'll have time to kill between their challenges. :'D ]

Yes! We can handwave that. Shouto would not 'directly' thank him bc he is terrible at doing such things. But he appreciates his help! He'll probably try to convey that without actually saying it bc what are social skills.

Also, I was planning on having him bring it up - Hey! We found Deku! - when they get a lull time in their catacomb thread! So, perfect!
