just because it's quiet now doesn't mean it's gonna stay that way

Oh, wow. I was wondering why everyone was so shifty.

So this is Trench's version of a natural disaster, huh...yikes. Thanks for the warning. I'm gonna make sure my housemate is already on gathering shit and preparing to hunker down.
Guess the priorities are long-lasting food to cover the month and incense. Maybe clean water in bottles, too, unless that also turns...can never tell with this place.

[So, when last Faith and Qrow met, they had been very distrustfully beating the shit out of eachother over Ozpin. But really, this seems like something she can help with, and while Faith thinks his irrational devotion to Ozpin is annoying, she doesn't hold that much of a grudge.]

Need any help defending the house? If it's as bad as all that, anyway. The place I'm staying at isn't exactly super secure, not much point bothering to defend it.

We'll need food and water for the whole city, or we'll face riots. I suppose we could build cisterns quite quickly with some of the magic I've seen here, and I'm told the mushrooms will grow without sunlight. I have a little courtyard I could use to grow them, if I had seeds. [she has no idea how mushrooms work.] And we could set archers around such places to defend from flying monsters if need be.

But I would imagine the city has its own defenses if this is a common or seasonal danger. We would do well to see what they are and how we can assist them before we bolt ourselves in our homes.

All he really knows about her is that she's Willow's friend, which isn't exactly good enough for any kind of personal trust under the circumstances, but it's enough to work together for a matter of mutual interest. Besides that, last time this had happened, he'd invited Raven to the home base of sorts where everyone from Remnant was to consolidate their defenses in one spot, and his connection with Faith is not nearly so acrimonious.]

I already heard about the incense and planned to store up food that keeps, but what did you all even do about water last time? How long did you have to stay inside?

I'm not about to declare myself queen of this place, but there must be people at the school, or the Lumenarium, or the Sanctuary, who are prepared to look after the people of the city, and people at the Watchtower who are prepared to defend it.

I suppose I can speak to them, but it would be better if there were more of us present when I did. [she believes she is only a young girl, and not a very forceful presence. and she is afraid to go anywhere alone, even with lady, under the cnditions of a siege.] At the very least they can tell the people here that they are welcome at our safe houses, and there is no need to raid them for supplies.

I truly don't wish to quarrel, not now, and I may not have been in the world before this one, but I have been in a city under siege, and I know the story of the Long Night, in my world, which lasted much longer than a month.

it sucks a lot, but the best you can really do is keep an eye on him and stick close together
maybe just totally empty out a room he can stay in for a bit if it's getting really bad

It's complicated, and not my story to tell. But nah, she's fine with Oz. She... landed here with some new blood powers, and she's worried about hurting Willow with them, since only vilebloods are immune.

So she's been staying with me since Willow died. I think she'd be fine if she goes back there for a month, though convincing her would be... hard.

that's kind of a long story
the short version is that this world used to be different, before this kid sodder was born of a pthumerian and a human, with incredible powers that the people of her town were afraid of
her grandmother, a pthumerian called mother superior, thought she could contain her power by having her put in a coma

which backfired and made a huge mess where the kid and all the people in the town were trapped inside her nightmare
along with a bunch of us from different worlds

and sodder split up the nightmare world into a number of layers to protect herself
if i remember right, the "october" layer with all the blood and no sun was the one mother superior was stuck on
she wanted to kill all us sleepers off to keep sodder asleep
because we made her more powerful or something?

you could probably get more details from people who were in deerington longer
there's a guy named shiro who's been around for years, i think

but if we ran out there were places we could get more
we'd just have to fight monsters on the way
the whole mess lasted about a month
in trench those canteens from the welcome bag are enchanted to clean any water put in them i think
but it's probably safer to have extra stocked up just in case

Well...if she's fine with Oz, he is a vileblood, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind letting her crash in his study for awhile. The rest of us can keep our distance. What's the range on 'em, does she know?

[For the most part, the house is pretty well-stocked, but from some degree of personal experience he thinks perhaps it might do Ange some good to have a task to focus on instead of the whole "intense personal betrayal" situation, so instead of saying that they're probably good, he suggests--]

there hasn't really been monster attacks as long or severe as back in deerington up to now so it's hard to say how much we'll need if we have to keep some lit constantly

Did fantasies of the past and mazes with challenges happen there too, or should I look for someone to answer me properly?
