I am new to this place, this... city. I do not have much in the way of the coin, but I am skilled in other forms. I can sew, weave, till a field, clean, cast a line, or a net, gut a fish, help tend animals, both with birthing and killing, cook many types of meals...

But if you have need of anything repaired or cooked... please, if there is something I can do for resources in return, only let me know, and I shall be your glad servant.

Firstly, welcome to Trench. I can see a lot of people have offered to help you settle in. Why don't I offer you a job.

My partner and I run Trenchwood Farm. It's mostly poultry but we're expending into vegetable crops this season and can use the extra hands. Pay is a cut of all that produce, eggs, and clean meat.

We've tilled and I think we've had some kind of blessing but I'm not an expert. If you have one to offer then we'll gladly have it.

You sound like your powers are water based. What do you know about irrigation?

I shall need to find enough fish guts, but I can certainly put it together for you.

I have them yes, and I know much about irrigating a crop. Have you set up a water meadow?

I've never heard that term before, what's a water meadow?

It is a field cut below the lay of the land, though not deeply, and you divert the river onto it in the spring thaw. You can other times in the year as well, should the rains be sparse.

Then you use it to help irrigate out to your crops throughout the year.

It is best to find already low-laying land to make it easier for you, on a slope.

That's a great idea. It never occurred to me.

I'll see what I can do about diverting water, I think there's a stream not too far away.
Our land is pretty flat but the Western side could stand to go a little lower. I'll have to ask an earthbender to make the slump.

If it is not too much of an irritation, let me come to help you lay it out. I am familiar with where is best and how to cut them suited fields, but I do not know how to explain it, without seeing the land itself first.
