I am new to this place, this... city. I do not have much in the way of the coin, but I am skilled in other forms. I can sew, weave, till a field, clean, cast a line, or a net, gut a fish, help tend animals, both with birthing and killing, cook many types of meals...

But if you have need of anything repaired or cooked... please, if there is something I can do for resources in return, only let me know, and I shall be your glad servant.

This place, Trench, has a barter system. There are a lot of shop keeps who will take shiny rocks and sea shells as payment since they can make jewelry out of them.

There's not much use for money here. Not sure I've ever seen the stuff, actually. Plenty's free for the taking, and if you ask for what you need there's probably someone around willing to give it up.

People mostly trade jobs. I do some construction and weapon-making. Forage, make some simple potions...

She gives a soft coo, and seems to be watching the video just as intently as her companion, studying both the new young woman and her Omen, an entity that seems as though it belongs to the sea. )

I'm Rose. And all of those skills would be very helpful around here; I'm sure there are many people and businesses who would appreciate what you can offer.

( But she's not as concerned with personally utilising those skills as she is making sure this newcomer is managing all right, so far. Despite the fact the girl can clearly take care of herself, Rose is forever a Mother, and she's going to Mom... )

Are you settling in here all right? Have you found a place to stay, and have enough to eat?

I can't help with the goat and chickens, but I can get you linens, thread, sewing needles and food.

[She's not sure if she can reality warp animals into existence the way she can make other things manifest, and she's not entirely sure if she wants to try.]

Blue, red and green. Though truly, as long as it is not black, I shall be fine with whatever you wish. Undyed serves just as well.

That is certainly a relief, I have only truly used coin in outside trade negotiations, in my life. I much prefer what is tangibly useful, if I were to be more plain in such matters.

Construction? Can you fix windows?

Then you'll fit right in. Maybe even better than most. It's a different hierarchy than a lot of people here are used to, but I haven't noticed much selfishness when it comes to sharing. Of course, I don't think anything here has actually strained the available resources yet.

Sure, depending on what's broken and how bad it is.

The Isle St. Loe... and yes, rather usually. Our winters are long and dark, our summers come with much rain and winds so harsh they'll near cut you.

I appreciate that, but I don't eat a lot. Might be better to save the fish for someone who needs them more. If you sew, any chance can you spin thread? I could get some wool, but I wouldn't mind learning either.

The majority of Earth thinks that too, actually. I don't mind. I've been on my own a long time before I wound up here. Pretty used to doing for myself. If I want to eat, I hunt. If I want shelter, I build it. Could be useful to learn, if you're patient enough to instruct.

Rose doesn't want to overwhelm the young woman with such frightful things, but she needs to warn her, expression sobering quietly. )
