[ The woman that appears is a - level expression, a little happy or sad that plays on her features. Level, most especially, as she clears her throat. Her veil tied around her head to tame her curls back, her shift and vest tying herself up neatly.

Peeking out from her veil is her lamp friend, and drifting around her in a circle is a soft finned creature, her Omen. Delicately colored in reds and blues as it swims in the air. ]

I find myself remiss, in how to make an introduction...

I am new to this place, this... city. I do not have much in the way of the coin, but I am skilled in other forms. I can sew, weave, till a field, clean, cast a line, or a net, gut a fish, help tend animals, both with birthing and killing, cook many types of meals...

[He looks out at the water, excited.]

Are you ready to swim?

[He can't wait to see what she looks like when she's a fish person but more importantly he can't wait to be out in the ocean with actual company. Company that could move through the water quickly and naturally like he can.]

Of course. Ready when you are.

[ Her clothes set aside, she lifts her hand up for him to take if he should like too. Let him lead her, that excited way children always were, into the water.

That her change takes over her, as she walks, not that she becomes a fish, so much, that she becomes the sea. Her skin a translucent window, her eyes deepen, and inside of the cavities of bones, and organs, coral springs to life from her bones, sunken ships make their home in crevices, and dark, dark, dark jellyfish swim with faint, bioluminescent light. Her hair no long curls but drifting strands of kelp, where eels dart and minnows play. Her belly was the hunting ground of sharks, teeth, and gnashing, shimming through.

The sea, from the darkest to the lights, living her soul, tender and merciless, beautiful and lightless. ]

[When Luca enters the water, he transforms into his own, fishlike form. When he turns to his swimming partner to see what she's turned into he stares in shock. Her translucent skin reminds him of his uncle and is kind of unnerving with the way he can see her bones and organs, but the sight of jellyfish, eels and sharks swimming around inside her is both fascinating and strange. He can't look away, completely fascinated and confused by what he's seeing.]

[ How sweet he is, like any of her own people, wrapped in a beautiful shimmer of scales that make him quick and fast in the water. His joy at moving in the water enough to pang her heart as they move through the water. Where he has a beautiful tail, hers a more the shift of a squid, pulsing her through in bursts as the long tentacles unfold like the movement of a skirt.

That she swims closer to him, looking as she was looking.

Then boops him right on the nose with one clear finger, still just as real to touch as a person, and darts away before he can catch her. Encouraging the chase with a smile. ]

[He swims in place at first, mesmerized and feeling a little unsure, having never seen anyone quite like her before. He'd been nervous about his uncle, but his uncle had been talking about eating whale carcass and staying in the deep. She was offering a chance to have someone to swim with which, since he was in the Trench, those opportunities aren't always there in the way they had been back home. That already tips the scales in her favor. The final straw in getting him used to her strangeness is when she boops his nose and swims away playfully, and his brain finally registers all of it as fun, and he races after her, laughing and darting after her like a fish.]
