content warnings: discussion of menstruation and puberty, baus-related beast transformation, complex yet flippant feelings about dead mom stuff
[ Alice's body has been up to some distressing changes. She's under the impression that every single one of them are normal things that happen to a young maiden of a certain age, which is not entirely correct. She has questions, and absolutely does not trust any of the people she lives with to give her a correct answer. Hence, the decision to ask absolutely everyone in Trench at once, because shame is something that happens to other people. ]
I have that disease where you feel like crap and then blood clumps come out of your downstairs bits. How do you stop feeling so crap? This keeps happening every month and I'm fed up with it. My stomach hurts and I don't want to eat all the stuff I usually want to eat. Some of you old people have to know what to do about this, right??
I keep itching and growing hair in new places, too, when is that over with?
And you can't make fun of me for not knowing anything because I don't have a mom because she is dead, and also I will kick your butt if you make fun of me.
[ Yeah, that's a good way to ask for help. She has to be aggressive!! Otherwise people won't take her seriously!! ]

screaming across the house -> action
Of course, mistress Alice! I'll be right there!
[It doesn't take him very long to make some tea and return to her room with a tray of supplies.]
[...] Wait, my blood? Is she getting advice from vampires?]
body horror time now that we're in person proper
Vileblood is supposed to stop itching, and warm things are supposed to help with all of this stomach junk.
[ She does not bother to clarify whether she meant inside or outside of the stomach because she's distracted by the tray. ]
cw: body horror
But when he sees how she has changed, his grip on the tray tightens.
this isn't part of a girl's period, right?
Does he react? What does he do?? Other than to slowly put the tray on the nearest bedside table. This isn't the time to freak out-]
A, ahh. Right. Itching... So I should get a knife? [to bleed.]

At least she has her favorite stuffed animal here. ]
I guess, unless you want your Omen to do it.
[ Alice often summons Raspy for those conveniently poky horns when she needs some blood real quick, if she doesn't skip right to biting. ]

He doesn't want Alice ingesting his blood and getting hurt, nor does he want to leave her for more than a second. So while he approaches her, Oz puts a finger in his mouth and tries to draw his own blood.
This will take a few tries.]
Well, let me give you your hot water bottle, uh... Are you able to breath okay?
[WHAT DOES HE DO? DIPPER, YOU DID NOT MENTION THIS PART.]
no subject
I can breathe. It's just annoying to do stuff with my mouth. I don't even want to eat.
[ One reason she's not volunteering herself - that and she is aware that Oz has toxic blood, which is another thing to be grumpy about. Chewing on Oz is one of her earliest hobbies and now it's off limits. ]
There's lots of sharp edges on my dresser, you can use the back of a brooch or something since you have wimp teeth.

Now he's chewing on his finger more aggressively. It's not working, which forces him to approach her dresser. If only she use her own teeth. Oz doesn't mind being chewed on by Alice.]
You don't want to eat? Must be serious... [Well, with all of that horrific hair... He can't blame her. Poor Alice. Something is clearly going on and he's figuring out that it's not her period.
He's also got a brooch now.]
What do you want to do with my blood?
no subject
Rub it on like a lotion.
[ She's pretty sure that averages out to be the advice she got. And by pretty sure we mean outrageously confident, warranted or otherwise. ]
no subject
[No scissors. He actively avoids them, actually, favoring a brooch with a sharp edge. After using the pin tip to open a cut, Oz using the pointed edge to open the cut further. This is all fine.
He walks over to offer his bleeding hand, though... colour him skeptical. With her new hair problems (which he struggles to look at calmly,) he's not sure if this is all womanly woes anymore.]
You... You feeling okay otherwise, though? It's a lot, huh?
no subject
[ Alice immediately shoves Oz's hand into the mass of disconcertingly muscly ears in hopes that something will happen. She does feel better at the skin contact, but. Like. Not better in the body, really. ]
It's a lot and I hate it!
no subject
They don't really give you a warning about this sort of stuff, do they?
[He's alarmed mostly by her suffering. If Oz stops to think about it, his feelings do change slightly,] Is it scary to become a 'woman?'
no subject
[ They have collectively experienced such a range of changes, Oz might be the only person in the world who can get that particular comparison. She flops to the side and leans on him, making his job quite a bit harder. ]
I'll probably get stronger for it, though.
no subject
Yeah. You're probably going to start growing soon too, huh? All of this means that you're growing up, Alice. You're going to be taller than me soon.
[And she's going to outgrow stuffed animals someday. That part stings in some ways, but he's also very happy to imagine it. Alice deserves a world outside of her tower.]
no subject
I shed my skin and turned into an adult for a while in winter. I think I was taller than you, but not taller than Gilbert. It wasn't bad at all, I could definitely live with it!
...What's your body going to get, Oz?
