Video UN: glyphywitchy [Back dated to May 12]

[It's been a few days since dying, and Luz had unfortunately kept this to herself. If you haven't been able to tell, this girl has been having a pretty rough month, and it didn't seem to be getting better. She lurched her device to focus, and, though coughing, was looking directly into the camera].

So. Uh. Died. First time, ha ha, not a fun experience. Kinda looking for some company, here or just on this thing otherwise. I should probably be getting rest, yes, but staring up at the ceiling regretting stuff and hating yourself can only keep out the quiet for so long.

Also, been out of the loop a bit. Someone update me on things?

Luz was pretty sure that she was going to get an earful from people in the house, but ESPECIALLY from Ahiru, who had very much not wanted her to go on the mission. Luz had thought she could handle it and had handled somewhat similar situations before. Now, though, since they'd talked about it before, Luz knew it looked even WORSE.

Add the whole mix of self-loathing for being too weak to avoid death and the ever-present gloom of missing Fern and Varian, and Luz was pretty much a powder keg of emotions and blah. She was in her room right now, dimly lit with her purple lights and surrounded by a fort of stuffed animals and, well, Luz was a sight to see.

[Not too long after Luz comes back (and probably sometime after she's gotten lectured by Ahiru), there's a knock on Luz's door.]

Hey, it's me. [...] Can I come in?

[Luz heard the voice from the doorway and recognized it pretty quickly].

Sure Zib. Come on in.

[When Zib comes in, he takes in her appearance and... yeah, she looks like she's seen better days, that's for sure.]

Welcome back... I'd ask what happened exactly on the mission, but uh, you don't have to tell me about it if you don't want to.

I can say it pretty quickly. Big ol' secret weapon evil monster that can level whole armies was on the loose. I joined the company to try and stop it. I underestimated how fast and how quick it responded. I...paid for that.

[She lowered her head].

Dying is the worst.

Yeah, it is. I don't recommend it.

[Zib may not have died here in Trench yet, but... yeah. Still not recommended.]

I'm relieved that you're back, though... I did what I could to watch the place while you were away.

[He actually slept inside for once now that he's moved his small amount of belongings in, and made an attempt at a little upkeep here and there so that Ahiru wasn't the only one doing any chores.]

Thanks, I appreciate that. Reaper's going to be coming back soon though, so at least we won't have to cook.

No, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't, since they're now taller than them. They're going to be a bundle of energy now.

[She sounded both tired and amused].

[Zib ends up giving his own awkward smile at that.]

Sorry about that... I can try to do something about it later?

Better let me do that. They don't know you so they might stomp on you if they're really bugged out.

[Luz had some narrow misses there herself].

Is there anything you want to do while you're resting? Like talk about non-death related things, or, I don't know, watch something on our Omni--I've been watching a lot of Mysterious Mysteries of Strange Mystery ever since someone told me about how to access stuff I was familiar with from home.

Me too. I don't like being away from you guys too long, even if I don't remember it.

Whoa, no way! I'd love to see that show you watch. Kind of a long title though. How about we just call it "M cubed"?

I guess? Sometimes I just call it Mysterious Mysteries but that's still kind of a mouthful.

[Either way, Zib takes out his Omni, looking for where he has the show saved on here.]

Did I ever tell you that I actually got to be on an episode of this show once? They were on location in my town, so I was able to get a spot on it as a guest after they saw just how many letters I had sent in before to them.

Ooo, wow! I'd love to be on a show I really liked! Maybe we can see THAT episode!

Yeah! It's a pretty exciting one, from what I remember.

[... Primarily because it kind of got out of hand and the host accidentally ended up with a scar on his face by the end of it. Either way, Zib will find and load up the show on his Omni to show Luz: it's a show that's basically about investigating paranormal entities. There's the usual about vampires and zombies and such, but there's also a few unique ones like Nessie and Chickenfoot that people are looking for apparently.]

What happens in it?

[Luz is all ears right now! These kinds of things were actually right up her alley, though she had actually experienced BOTH vampires and zombies. The Chickenfoot one would actually be the most interesting to her].

You'll have to watch to find out.

[The episode is finished loading, and thus she'll be able to see for herself. From the look of things, it seems to be an episode about... aliens, perhaps to the surprise of no one for why Zib ended up on this episode.

Or rather, it's an episode that Dib ended up on before he became Zib, and so when he is called upon to come up onto the stage, Luz will be able to see what he looks like as a human without the PAK. He was much paler in the past in comparison to the grayish-green tint Zib has now, as well as only having one of those silly hair scythes. His glasses are not cracked like present-day Zib, and... wow, actual ears and nose like a normal human, wow. Zib kind of forgot how much more human he used to look, so for a second he's gone quiet as he watches his past self smile cheerfully and wave excitedly at the camera.]

Ha ha I loved this episode!

All right then! I guess I will!

[Luz sits cross legged, watching the episode intensely. When she saw Dib enter the fray, she did make sure to look at ZIB, not Dib. Of course he was going to have feelings about seeing himself before he merged with the PAK.

As much as she wanted to be attentive to Zib though, the episode had her attention and...she didn't realize how FUNNY it was going to be. She had to stop herself from laughing a few times at first, but she eventually wasn't able to stay completely stone faced].

[Zib remembers being very annoyed at the time whenever his testimony got called into question for coming across as crazy in his attempts of trying to prove the existence of aliens, but honestly looking back on this particular incident with this episode of Mysterious Mysteries, he can see why it might be seen as funny now. Or at least just the sheer amount of insanity going on right in front of the cameras and the hosts of the show just being completely incapable of knowing how to deal with it. He almost feels sorry for them now.

Once it ends, he turns his attention to Luz.]

So, what did you think of it?

[Luz turned to him and was all smiles].

I can't imagine the other episodes being as funny as that one! A shame they didn't take you seriously though: you'd probably have been able to stop Zim then and there. But I can see why you'd want to be on the show: you believe in the supernatural like the host seems to, and you would have probably made good partners if he believed you!

But if that had happened, things would be radically different with you, right?

Yeah, I guess it would be... maybe? I guess it depends on how willing the rest of the world chooses to be in believing us if I had gotten that guy on my side there.

But hey at least I got to embarrass Zim even a little on that show.

True. You'd have to hope everyone watching the show would believe what you were saying is true, and some people are pretty stubborn about what they think is real.

[Luz chuckled].

I don't know, there seemed to be plenty of embarrassment to go around. Your sister Gaz's interpretation of things seemed very...unflattering.

That's my sister for you--she can be very negative about anything that isn't related to pizza or videogames.

[Gaz would probably interject and say that Dib doesn't typically offer anything for her to be positive about otherwise, or even punch him for that remark, but she isn't here to do so... thankfully.]

It was a bad idea to call on her in hindsight--she knows and believes the facts regarding Zim being an alien, but doesn't particularly care at all about him as long as he doesn't bother her when he's up to his usual schemes.

That's a shame. She seems interesting.

[She had that kind of aloofness that would have made her a favorite in any anime-heck, probably in a Western animated movie too! Luz certainly knew she wanted those stockings, and possibly the purple hair].

Was Zim usually successful in his schemes?

[Luz realized she never really asked that].

[Gaz's fashion sense is absolutely on point, it's true.]

No, but that's because I always made sure to stop him every chance I could. Even if he did succeed at something, it would only be temporary until we figured out how to turn things around.

[Zib is quite confident in himself on that front.]
