[It's been a few days since dying, and Luz had unfortunately kept this to herself. If you haven't been able to tell, this girl has been having a pretty rough month, and it didn't seem to be getting better. She lurched her device to focus, and, though coughing, was looking directly into the camera].

So. Uh. Died. First time, ha ha, not a fun experience. Kinda looking for some company, here or just on this thing otherwise. I should probably be getting rest, yes, but staring up at the ceiling regretting stuff and hating yourself can only keep out the quiet for so long.

Also, been out of the loop a bit. Someone update me on things?

Luz was pretty sure that she was going to get an earful from people in the house, but ESPECIALLY from Ahiru, who had very much not wanted her to go on the mission. Luz had thought she could handle it and had handled somewhat similar situations before. Now, though, since they'd talked about it before, Luz knew it looked even WORSE.

Add the whole mix of self-loathing for being too weak to avoid death and the ever-present gloom of missing Fern and Varian, and Luz was pretty much a powder keg of emotions and blah. She was in her room right now, dimly lit with her purple lights and surrounded by a fort of stuffed animals and, well, Luz was a sight to see.

I... I guess that's something we can both try to do better at. [She grins.] I can be as tough as I look sometimes, Luz! You know you can talk to me about anything!

[At her joke, Scorpia laughs and gives a sheepish smile as she waves with her pincers.]

Okay, okay. Maybe I did go a little too far there. I officially rescind my bad juju-inducing comments!

You sure can! Besides, I don't like keeping secrets from my friend anyway.

[Not unless she absolutely needed to, which Luz didn't love. Keeping things secret usually tended to make things worse. Luz smiled].

Ha ha, good! But keep that enthusiasm! I think ours both together would be enough!

[cuddlery]

Right. Never really liked secrets myself. Let's keep the truths flowing between us!

[She laughs, and her tears are begging to fade.]

Got it! Let's keep that energy. That will really come in handy.

Right, exactly!

[Luz didn't like seeing Scorpia upset in general. Heck, SHE didn't like getting upset herself, but Scorpia was one of those people that Luz couldn't help but be attentive to.

That, and her Bonded, who have reminded her not to go to reckless from now on.

Now speaking of that-]

Hey, feel like cheering me on in a few days?

[cuddlery]

[She does feel relieved somewhat that Luz seems to be in good spirits now. There's nothing she can do to undo her death, but at least she's managed to be there for her now.]

Luz, I feel like I cheering you on during any anr all times. So yes, that can include several days from now! So should I wait outside your home at that time and cheer you on through your daily life? [She proposes that as if it's a completely normal thing to do.]

[Luz was trying to take dying as well as she could without getting TOO depressed. After all, earlier this month had really taken the cake].

Oh, no, I should have been more specific! There's a karate tournament happening in a few days, and I'll be in it. Just hoping to have some good moral support!

Oh wow. A tournament! That sounds exciting. Of course I'll be there cheering for you! I'll can start working on a banner today!

Aw, thanks, that'd be great! I hope I can at least go beyond first round though. I don't know how long my opponent's been studying his weapon.

[She'd find out it was Keith later and get one HECK of a fight].

[She almost warns her to be careful with weapons, but with everything they just discussed, she feels she can trust her to be careful without being told.]

Well you have plenty of tricks up your sleeve! I believe in you, Luz, and I'll be rooting for you to kick some butt!

[Luz would have regarded the warning! She was sure she forgotten to mention she fenced with Vira and trained with Fern to use a sword].

Of course you will. And I'll be proud of you no matter what! I'm sure that you've been working hard. And that you'll be careful too!

I'd be surprised you weren't in on this, but somehow I don't see you practicing martial arts?

[She wasn't sure WHY exactly, but with Scorpia's build she figured that she'd maybe go for a different style entirely].

Yeah, that's something I never really thought much about. [She shrugs.] I feel fine just fighting the way I fight!

Which is fine! I'd totally be afraid to fight you for REAL.

[cuddlery]

[Scorpia laughs ]

You don't have to be afraid of that! I wouldn't hurt you for real. Y'know, we should spar sometime. It'd be fun!

It would be fun!

[She didn't add that she never thought she'd be fighting Scorpia on purpose, but that Trench might suddenly decide it was fun to make someone brainwashed. She wouldn't put it past the place].

[That's definitely a possibility she's trying not to think about! It feels a lot better to focus on the friendliest type of fighting.]

Yup! We will make it happen, sometime, and it will be great!

[Luz didn't want to think about it either: the last thing she wanted was to actually fight a good friend].

Hey, that reminds me. Have you visited the arcade yet?

As a matter of fact, no I have not! Don't know much at all about arcades really.

OOh. Oh Scorpia. My wonderful, beautiful tall friend. We absolutely have to go right now.

Then, and only then, can you know the true magic of eating ghosts, or getting a frog across the interstate.

I... never really thought about either of those concepts.... but sure! I'd be happy to!

That's the point! Nobody really would now, but you will!

[Look, these games were even before Luz's time, and she knew she enjoyed the heck out of them. Maybe Scorpia would too]?

[She probably will! Hopefully she can manage to play with her pincers. In any case, it's off to the arcade for some fun!]
