[It's been a few days since dying, and Luz had unfortunately kept this to herself. If you haven't been able to tell, this girl has been having a pretty rough month, and it didn't seem to be getting better. She lurched her device to focus, and, though coughing, was looking directly into the camera].

So. Uh. Died. First time, ha ha, not a fun experience. Kinda looking for some company, here or just on this thing otherwise. I should probably be getting rest, yes, but staring up at the ceiling regretting stuff and hating yourself can only keep out the quiet for so long.

Also, been out of the loop a bit. Someone update me on things?

Luz was pretty sure that she was going to get an earful from people in the house, but ESPECIALLY from Ahiru, who had very much not wanted her to go on the mission. Luz had thought she could handle it and had handled somewhat similar situations before. Now, though, since they'd talked about it before, Luz knew it looked even WORSE.

Add the whole mix of self-loathing for being too weak to avoid death and the ever-present gloom of missing Fern and Varian, and Luz was pretty much a powder keg of emotions and blah. She was in her room right now, dimly lit with her purple lights and surrounded by a fort of stuffed animals and, well, Luz was a sight to see.

There were plenty of things that give me nightmares, Minako-san. Those monsters pretty much have to take a number.

[Luz had gotten Kigurumis from Usagi that helped her sleep, and she needed that, along with her painting, to chase the monsters away].

That's one way to look at them! It definitely helps to break them down that way, and not with what you've actually seen. If you did that, well, you're just going to cause problems for yourself.

It isn't easy. I know for me, it was relying on other people. Without that, I'm pretty sure I would have gone a little cuckoo, if not from my own memories, the memories of other people.

[She knew that was the kinda way she had to go about things here. Plus it really did help with the trauma one might get at times. Might never go fully away but it lessons.]

It's just easier said than done with some. After all a lot of us have probably seen a lot here. But you are right relying on people is the biggest help more so since they are in the same boat.

Also the whole being alone sucks thing and yes, one would go a little mad because of that. I know I would. I am a social creature myself.

[It really did. With no psychiatrist to actually look over them, talking with people about what was happening was one of the only ways that Luz felt sane].

That's the only thing that makes sense to me. It helps a lot.

Yes, it does. That's why I'm glad I have all of you. It makes me feel like I can still keep going.

People have been bringing food, so...if you wanted to, I wouldn't say no?

I can bring food. Do not expect me to have cooked it though.

[In the whole time she has been around, not has always replied on others to make food for her or she just buys it ready made.]

Nope, that's fine! Honestly if I don't get to cook food I'd go a little cuckoo soon!

That's the one. She's an awesome cook. Probably one of the best.

[An while she was a friend that wasn't why she said that. She legit loves her cooking.]

But cooking doesn't drive you cuckoo? Does that mean you can actually cook?

I know! I've had some of her food before!

[And sadly, Luz will realize she won't have Lysithea to compete with in pastries].

Cooking? Not really.

I live in a house with mostly boys and one grown man, and we are now minus the only woman older than me there. It's kind of essential when Reaper is gone.

That does sound like having someone who can cook in that household is essential...

I mean you could be like me and just go to others because otherwise I might be down a place to live.

[She honestly wasn't kidding about that. It could happen.]

But oh... Someday I would like to be able to at least learn one recipe.

Oh, absolutely! Reaper was the one doing that, but when he's not around (which sometimes happens) I pick up the slack!

Really? That does sound rough. I guess if that ever happened, I don't know. I'd still try to make do in this house. It's what Varian and Fern created together, and I want to keep it alive.

Just one? I think I could manage to help you do that!

It wasn't that bad, I got to enjoy my friends cooking. She is the best.

But... if you could help me what is the one recipe you could?

Heh, yeah, she really is!

I mean, that would depend. What do you think you could handle? We should start with something simple, like breakfast food. Are you good with eggs and bacon?

I mean I burn most things I touch if that helps in anyway. I think something with very basic instructions might help.

Ok, to start? Butter is your friend, so treat it that way! Start cooking on low if you're still worried about burning things, and overcompensate with a little more butter. Once you get better and don't have to worry so much about burning things, you'll be able to to do without it.

What's your preferred egg?

So butter is good for most things? O at least helping make things less burnt? Though how is butter able to do that?

Preferred egg? There are different kinds one can use? I just use chicken mostly.

Because it's what's doing the actual cooking of the egg, and the fat is protecting the food from getting dry. Or something like that? Anyway, you'll want the butter, but if you're missing that olive oil will work too.

No, no, I mean, how do you prefer yours cooked? Over easy, sunny side, scrambled, poached?

So... basically anything that can be slippery?

Sunny side if I had to pick one, poached because a close second. Both are delicious.

It's slippery and giving the food some flavor!

Oh, good! Sunny side is actually pretty easy! I even have a simple method that'll cook it faster!

Wait, it's that simple? I've always managed to mess it up.

[Mostly failing to flip it in some way.]

[That was what made them so easy, you didn't even HAVE to flip them! The trick was covering it a bit so it cooked itself]!

Yup, it is! Pretty easy too!

I guess I will just have to give it another shot.

[And when she gets it... It will be a loud day where she lives with how excited she would be.]
