[He's barely been here but for a few days, but already everything is overwhelming. He's trying to keep it together, but apparently there are other forces at work.]
[His Omni turns on and there's a fuzzy paw covering the display for a moment. It moves away and reveals Nara'a sitting in a small wooden shack, a needle and thread in hand. He's found some rags somewhere and has clearly ripped them apart to form more serviceable pieces of cloth. He's sewing a little bit, silent for a while, before he looks up at what his Omen is doing.]
Hey, stop playing with that.
[He sets his work down and picks up the Omni, looking into it.]
... Sorry about that. I'm... I was just trying to repurpose a few things that I found.
[He's quiet for a few moments before going on.]
I'm new, so I didn't want to bother anyone, and I thought maybe I could trade these for something else. Does anyone know of a place where I could do that?
I'm not the best at weaving, but I'm a fair hand. They should be serviceable, at least. A few might have patches, though.
[Hm. He nods and fumbles with the Omni for a few moments before the broadcast shuts off.]

There is no true war here, as I understand it, but it can take many Hunters to stop a Beast, and even more dangerous creatures have been known to appear.
I'm called Alayne. I've been here some few months. I've found the people here to be very kind and helpful. It's very good to meet you.

It's nice to meet you too, Alayne. You've been very helpful yourself, and I appreciate it quite a bit. Thank you.

Oh, I'm not a Hunter. I don't go out looking for creatures and beasts to fight, and I've only ever been in the woods with trading groups on my way to Shiver and Feed. There were the little statues that only moved when you weren't looking, but they went away when I gave them chalk to write with. And the butterflies that fed on hope, they were awful. It's bad enough that something so beautiful should be dangerous, but they were so gentle otherwise, you didn't even like to push them away. And I suppose the blood hounds count, but they're no more dangerous than any wild creature. They eat blood pollution, and one of them stays with me. His name is Knight, and he'll eat corruption from anyone's blood, so I bring him around the Sanctuary and anywhere else people need help.

Blood hounds... they sound very helpful. I hope yours is friendly towards you. I'm curious as to how one eats corruption from someone without hurting them. But if corruption is really such a problem here... I can see where having them around would be really useful.
I didn't ask this before and I probably should have, but there's nothing like an Adventurer's Guild here, is there?

There are no guilds here. There are many groups of Hunters, but those at the Sanctuary could very much use your help. My friend Ser Allen is capable of curing Beasthood through non-lethal means, and seeks capable Hunters to aid him in securing Beasts that were once people especially. We aim to reduce overall bloodshed and blood pollution, but unfortunately we've been met with some resistance from other groups of Hunters.
[this is perhaps an understatement, but at least they're not actively hostile. she smiles ruefully.]
My blood hound Knight is gentle enough, and he minds me. He pulls corruption from the blood through magic means that doesn't harm the body. I'm told it can be painful if they attempt to feed on healthy blood, though, so it's very important I keep him fed properly.

[Though he accepts that some people are like that, that doesn't mean he has to like it and it doesn't mean he has to understand it.]
Oh, well. That's good. As long as no one's getting hurt...
... I like dogs. They're quite nice, most of the time.
[Just because he has cat ears doesn't mean he dislikes dogs! He's had overall good experiences with them, when they're not imperial ones sent to attack him.]
