[He's barely been here but for a few days, but already everything is overwhelming. He's trying to keep it together, but apparently there are other forces at work.]

[His Omni turns on and there's a fuzzy paw covering the display for a moment. It moves away and reveals Nara'a sitting in a small wooden shack, a needle and thread in hand. He's found some rags somewhere and has clearly ripped them apart to form more serviceable pieces of cloth. He's sewing a little bit, silent for a while, before he looks up at what his Omen is doing.]

Hey, stop playing with that.

[He sets his work down and picks up the Omni, looking into it.]

... Sorry about that. I'm... I was just trying to repurpose a few things that I found.

[He's quiet for a few moments before going on.]

I'm new, so I didn't want to bother anyone, and I thought maybe I could trade these for something else. Does anyone know of a place where I could do that?

I'm not the best at weaving, but I'm a fair hand. They should be serviceable, at least. A few might have patches, though.

[Hm. He nods and fumbles with the Omni for a few moments before the broadcast shuts off.]

To answer your question, there's a few shops that might take your work for what passes as pay around here. I've also helped organize an exchange market for this month. It'll assemble once every midweek this month in the Crenshaw District.

[ Then she asks the question she considered a priority. ]

That's great. But... Gaia? I didn't expect to see you here.

[His ears flick in amusement as he grins a bit.]

On the Source we call them miqo'te, but yes, I am. How have you been? It's been a while since I last was able to come and see you.

[ There's confusion when he addresses her by name. Okay so her username was inded Gaia as well. It's just that Nara'a talks as if he knows her. It's followed by unease, particularly when the Source is mentioned. Keywords are recognized.

I'm sorry. I've been well. But... if we know each other, I don't remember. Were you one of Ryne's friends?

[ Ryne had mentioned a mystel on her journey with Thancred, hadn't she? ]

[He's so used to the Source's term for him... and it's been some time since he was able to go back.]

... Are you feeling all right? Do you need me to come and help you?

[ Warrior of Darkness? Yes, she knew that term. Knew the person. Gaia touches her fingers to her temple a moment. It's not like she's in pain, but it's clear she's uncertain. And perhaps a touch distressed. ]

You're him? I didn't remember...

[ She certainly knows she should recognize Nara'a, just as much as she would know Ryne. Dropping her hand, Gaia shakes her head and looks at the camera source. ]

You're welcome to come over. I suppose I knew this might be possible, but...

[ She looks away, grabbing at an arm with her hand before letting out a long sigh. ]

I'm feeling as alright as I can be. Did you learn how to use the Lamps yet?

[Maybe they'll come back to her in time, now that he's here? He doesn't want to push her.]

[sansa tries not to look too alarmed. are those...rags? oh no. where even is he? why wasn't he directed to the inn? were all of the wakers out of their minds on lemons, too?]

You can trade little things at most markets and shops, but we do have clothes and provisions available at the Sanctuary in Crenshaw for new Sleepers at no cost. I should be glad to make you a few simple things to wear, and leather armor if you have need of it. You can find me at the Rookery in Cellar Door. The lantern imps can take you there, or to the Sanctuary, if you ask them.

Weaving is largely done in Shiver. It should be easy enough to find employment there, if you are comfortable with the looms. You might take an apprenticeship, otherwise.

Oh, I... saw some of those things. And it seems my equipment came with me in the form of my job stones, so I'm all right with clothing.

[He's still wearing the new person robes, but they're useful. The muck is staying off of him thanks to them.]

I didn't really want to intrude on anyone, so I just... found my way here. I'm not as familiar with looms, but I'm sure I can figure it out.

[sansa's brow furrows slightly. how can anyone weave without looms, first of all...]

It's not an intrusion. We want very much to help you. Our aim is to reduce corruption in all of us. When people are left to struggle on their own, they can fall to corruption and despair. Corruption is very dangerous and, left untreated, will turn anyone into a deadly, mindless beast. We can all prevent this in working together and helping each other.

[she smiles wryly.]

At the least we can give you a few good meals. It really is no trouble. We have a very enthusiastic kitchen staff.

[It's a catchall term! But if she doesn't ask, he's not going to answer.]

I see. That makes sense. I'll have to get used to things in this new world. It's a lot of information to take in at once, but I'll get a hang of it soon, I'm sure. Corruption... is it an element or is it something else? I've... seen things grow corrupted from an excess of a single element before.

[Anyone looking around the place he grew up could find corrupted crystals. Is it that sort of thing, or something else? He wonders...]

[usually people's questions about corruption aren't so specific. it sounds as if he's talking about a kind of poison? sansa is grateful that he seems to have a frame of reference, though it might be something entirely different with the same name.]

Corruption comes about from exposure to blood pollution, but trauma and misery can cause it just as well. I'm sure a Blood Minister could explain it better than me–they are healers who know very much about the blood diseases specific to Trench and Sleepers. Some of them come by the Sanctuary to help the people there, but they are most easily found in the Lumenwood.

[Hm. So not like the corruption he knows. He nods at that explanation, thinking for a moment.]

I'll try to speak to one of them. It's important to know what you're up against when you show up to a new place... but hopefully this one will have fewer battles than the last places I've been? I need a bit of a break, heh.

[Going from battle to battle... he's used to being around spilled blood and trauma and misery. If he can avoid some of that here, that would be nice.]

[Maul watches the video, thinking it mostly just another new Sleeper finding their way. But it's the ears that draw his attention. This being would look human but for those defining features. So his curiosity makes him pay a little more attention than he might otherwise.]

Tell me, what planet do you come from?

[As for Maul, he looks like a demon but speaks with a soft, velvet-smooth voice that sounds like it should be coming from someone lecturing in a university hall instead of someone with red-and-black skin and horns.]

It's called Etheirys, though many call it Hydaelyn as the former name has been somewhat lost over the years. I come from the Source, not one of the reflections of it.

More like a nemesis. He was a young boy with feline ears very similar to yours and a long tail as well.

[Most people don't use the word 'nemesis' unless they're serious. Maybe he was a bad person.]

Miqo'te are very common where I'm from. ... Well, common depending on what region you're in. But most people wouldn't think they look out of place.

It's strange... there's so many hyur around. Not a lalafell or roegadyn in sight.

Some food might be nice. I got some from the people on the boardwalk but to be honest... I never got very far in my culinarian lessons.

[He can make a few simple things, but that's about it.]

Oh... I like a lot of things. I'm fond of fish and wild game, but I'm not all that picky.

[ She figures that - if he's new - naming neighbourhoods or anything of the sort would probably just confuse him. It's better to use landmarks. Things anyone could notice just from wandering through this place, even if names might not necessarily stick in their head. ]

You can come to my house, if you want. It's right next to that shop that sells fish with the big blue sign..
