Hello. Some of you may know me already, but to those who don't — I'm Rose Da Silva. Sharon's mom.

( Her smile warms, and she gently sets her mug down so she can turn her full focus on the video she's making. )

I've been here for... a while. Half a year now. I have to admit, this place isn't like where I come from at all, and I'm still... trying to adjust.

I know a lot of you are from worlds that may be similar to this one. You've probably been able to settle in a lot easier than me. But... I wanted to offer something. Because I know there are a lot of young people here, people... on their own.

( Her smile wavers, brow knitting slightly. A lot of people without parents, without help. And maybe they've been doing quite well on their own; Rose has certainly witnessed almost disconcerting levels of independence from the Sleeper youth. Often, it suggests that... many of them might not have had a strong parental presence back home, either. Several of them have directly told her as much, or she's seen... memories, shared by accident. )

I can't make things, but I can show you how to buy and use them, if you like. Like... well, if anyone might need some more clothes and could use a hand, I'd be very happy to show you the shops I've discovered around here.

( She's.... offering to help take you shopping, yes. This month, there's a growing compulsion to teach, and maybe Rose is....... filled with the need to do some Mom Teaching Things for others! )

There are some really nice shops in certain parts of the city. I'm sure we could find something to fit your personal style.

( Her smile brightens again; she seems excited. Back home, before she was venturing into the depths of Silent Hill to rescue her daughter, she was one fancy suburban mom. Shopping was her thing. And maybe it seems a little silly, considering so many young people around here are... warriors, fighters, have some sort of strong power.... do they really need something as simple as a shopping trip while she's Mom For A Day?

....The offer is there. She wants it to be there, just in case someone does need it. Because maybe she doesn't have a lot of Trench-appropriate skills to put out here, in comparison to others. But being a mother... that's what she wanted to be for her whole life. She's not explicitly framing it that way, but that's what she feels the most comfortable offering, guidance that might fall under the "maternal" or "guardian" category of teaching. )

I'd be happy to treat you to lunch or dinner too, or show you around other places in the city, if you like. The weather's so nice lately.

Well if you were going for "really" gross and "really" inappropriate, congratulations.

I'm kinda curious how you could take a perfectly well meaning post on the network about helping kids, which is meant to be seen BY kids, and talk about "banging her." Don't you have the slightest sense of social decorum?

[Because Luz was not an expert on that and even SHE knew when to not say things, or to say them at all].

You're supposed to be a sensei, right? Doesn't that mean you lead by example?

[Johnny's spectrum of right and wrong was a certainly skewed and he was more than baffled at the responses he was getting. But he was quick to fight anger with anger.]

You could have also just NOT said it at all. This is a video, so when you say demeaning things about someone, EVERYBODY hears it, kids, adults, whoever. It's very uncool.

And I can't believe I need to say this, but women do NOT LIKE BEING PUT IN CATEGORIES LIKE THAT. You're basically looking at us as conquests and not people.

[Johnny who was only just learning about the internet looked a little baffled at that.]

Well... That does explain why everyone is so eager to dogpile me about this. I just heard she was Sharon's mom and fucking reacted. Didn't think everyone and the neighbor was going to listen to this shit.

Okay, fine. But that's why I moved her out that category, because I was showing that I respected her and her kid.

How exactly am I supposed to tell a chick that I think she's hot if I can't be direct about it?

It's on a network not privated, my dude. Anyone can read it. Also, Rose has become endeared to a lot of kids here, saying that is like you kicking a puppy- everyone is going to be coming for you.

[And Luz was definitely on that list with how much she cared about Rose, but that was neither her nor there[.

Except, you know, saying it out loud kinda kills all that respect because they know it along with everyone else.

I could give you a million things to tell a girl you like her without saying, "hey, we should totally do the nasty," and I'm only sixteen. You have heard of subtlety, right?

Well they're free to come at me if they want. I'll kick their asses- Teach them to mind their own business.

[Johnny... Johnny please. Except he does kind of get what she's saying even if he's hesitant to admit it.]

Subtlety is for chumps, a real man strikes first and gets right to the point. Which is what a lot of people here seemed to have missed the point- I said I wasn't going to do any shit with her. There's a difference.

You know you say that kind of stuff a lot. Real men do "this" or "that," that you'll kick some person's ass for getting involved the wrong way.

What exactly does that get you? Have you noticed a lot of people find that to be either frustrating or short sighted? And I know you can just say they will never understand what you, the "real man," is thinking, but really think about this.

The world, all the worlds really, are big places, and the people in them are all different. If you want to live with all of them, don't you think some things you think have to be amended? Isn't that what your own martial arts teaches? Or does it tell you to stay inflexible, to buck against any kind of change?
