video; un: v | cw for creepy dolls i guess?
[the video starts focused on a shelf, and on that shelf is a doll. absolutely the kind that just exudes 'listed on ebay for having the spirit of an angry victorian child in it' vibes with its dead eyes.
when viktor speaks his tone could not be more dry.] Some of you might have noticed the unpleasant dolls that, when ignored instead of bought, come to life violently. This is a matter our household is not entirely aware of because Palamedes continues to gladly buy any unpleasant doll he sets his sights upon.
[offscreen, but not like, very far offscreen (it is not a big living space), palamedes chimes in with a pointed, 'While I respect your aesthetic tastes, you're wrong, they're delightful,' that viktor will pointedly ignore as he continues.]
He will not stop bringing them. Some of them vanish after a week or two. He calls this one Sensible Bethany.
['She calls herself that, actually, I explained this already,' from the peanut gallery. the camera shifts as viktor turns to address him back]
Is this entire place not haunted enough without ugly dolls, I ask again? There is a limit, Palamedes.
[in the unfocused corner of the camera the doll absolutely turns its head to stare directly at the screen.]

Yes, of course. I only have a few books from my world, but the Jade Compendium is very interesting, and Lady Catriona left some very nice collections of mummer's plays.
[beautifully bound editions of shakespeare, oscar wilde, moliere–the sort of things that might appeal to an old character actor, and quite a lot of musicals with scores sansa can't exactly parse.
perhaps they could do a table read...]
I could leave you my copy of the Lives of Four Kings, for a little while. It has wonderful illustrations, but–well, it's very concerned with a series of conflicts in the history of my realm, and how they might have been prevented.
[she thinks jon and robb might like it, and she would like it back eventually, but it's very much an academic treatise on some guy's area of study, and sansa barely knows how to approach it.]
But it's very long, and it should last you a good while. [she smiles a little crookedly.] Perhaps if I read it aloud to him, I won't start thinking of something else halfway through.

Not quite records and not quite a novel? That sounds like a happy medium to me. Sure; maybe we could take turns, make an afternoon of it with whoever's around. Abigail in the kitchens would surely leap at the chance to overload us with snacks.
Have your books from home been coming in through those portals a while ago, and so on? I've only got one actual book from home on me, and it's- [filthy, filthy romance] -not great for a reading circle.

Yes, I found them on the streets when we were having portals. Allen has the one I found about the dragons from my world, but it's as much notes as anything. I didn't see any books from other worlds–that would have been interesting.
