[It took...a while for Ochako to find the courage to really start acting like herself again after all of what happened in July. Thankfully, she has some amazing friends, an absolutely wonderful boyfriend that she would do anything for, and is as resilient as she is stubborn. Moping about and feeling remorseful will get her nothing, she has to act if she wants things to get better, so this is exactly what she's doing today, despite how she's still very nervous and really, really ashamed still. The things she did and said, the people she hurt, the one she killed... That's going to weigh heavy on her for much longer than just a month. But the first step to growing and moving on is to address and confront it. To apologize.

So the video opens up with Ochako sitting in presumably her living room, which...anyone who knows her, or has been to her and Bakugou's home before, will notice is different. Different wall colors, different arrangement of furniture, just...overall different. But she makes no note of that. Instead, she just puts on a sheepish smile to the camera and bows lightly.]

Ehehe...hello, everyone. It's been a while since I posted to the network, ne? S-Some here in Trench might know me, but I bet a lot of others don't. My name is Uraraka--...um! O-Or Ochako, if you're from the Western hemisphere of Earth. [She rubs the back of her head, mussing up her hair a little. Anyone who knows her would know, again, this is a nervous tic Ochako has. She clears her throat and laughs awkwardly.] Last month was, eeh...p-pretty crazy, huh? I know I went, um...pretty crazy. Myself.

[Her smile falls, and so does her hand in her hair, settling into her lap as Ochako sighs. She then sets her omni down on the floor she's kneeling on, looking rather somber all of a sudden as she takes a deep breath in and out, as if preparing herself.]

It's true it wasn't really me, that it was all part of The Reckoning's...stuff, but. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, and I couldn't have tried harder to fight it. Neither does it make anything better, because it was still my body, my voice, that did and said all those things. So, I just...I--

I want to apologize. To everyone I hurt in some way. I am...deeply sorry, for everything.

[She gazes downward, and then bows as low as she can, a full dogeza. Ochako said nasty things, physically and emotionally hurt people she considers very friends. She even went and killed someone in cold blood at some point, among other things. She can still see the blood, hear the breaking of a neck, the splatter of a body on hard ground... Those thing's can't be erased, but she can at least admit they happened, and apologize for them. It's the first thing to do before she starts trying to make amends for it.

She rises, just for a moment, before bowing back down again.]

And to those that helped me overcome...thank you. Even if it was just for a moment, you really saved me. I'm grateful.

[they do, and Lexi is so glad she went as Luz's plus one to Ochako's party. she's always had a hard time reaching out to make new friends, but a party was the perfect opportunity to do so. and maybe, if they helped each other out with confidence, they'd both get better?

she's used to horror and thrillers, she didn't grow up with Rue Bennett as a best friend for nothing. Rue used to only want to watch stuff like Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street. now even those kinds of movies, Rue doesn't have the attention span for anymore, instead watching and rewatching the same season of Love Island over and over again]

No, no, none of those. If you don't like them, then we won't watch them. And not "The Room," that one's just plain scarring. Let's see...are bad romances okay? [that sounds simultaneously adorable and embarrassing. why were some kids so eager to set off another one?] Really? He's from your world? That must be great, there are some things a person goes through that can only be understood by someone like that.

[Ochako definitely is the more social and friendly of her friends here in Trench - Bakugou is...prickly, to say the least, Izuku is a bit shy and a massive nerd, and Todoroki...ah. He's an oddball, but he's a good guy at heart. Ochako adores each one, but they really aren't the best at going out and making friends other than Izuku...though he just happens to stumble upon them it feels like. He's friendly in a different way than Ochako, who actively seeks it out. But building up their confidence together...yeah, that'd help both Lexi and Ochako grow tremendously - considering Ochako doesn't really see herself as all that great in comparison to others.

Meanwhile, Ochako has definitely seen her share of, ah...intense horror (much to her dismay). The Ring was one evens some of the more hardy horror-buffs were uncomfortable with. Perhaps because, let's be real, Japanese horror just...tends to go much harder than American horror sometimes. It really depends on how the story is told, and what local horror story is told, and about what type of demon. Videogames are far worse, and Ochako doesn't even touch those, and powerwalks through the common area like an imitation of Iida when Kaminari and Sero have their game consoles hooked up to the TV.]

Heeeh...thank you. I really don't like anything too scary... And romance is fine!! I think I mostly prefer action, light comedy, and some family movies, ehehe. I'm ah...also a huge fan of sci-fi and fantasy...those are my two favorite genres. I also like magical girl anime and...space mechs... [AHEM.] Mm!! I have three friends from home here, one of them is actually my--....roommate.

[CAUGHT HERSELF. Ochako's not sure if Bakugou wants to come clean about their relationship yet. And probably not publicly on the network. In fact, that sort of declaration is DANGEROUS, considering who else is here.]

[she doesn't know the rest of them. she knows that Ochako is an accomplished martial artist, she was there as an observer and one of Sasuke's students, even though she didn't feel ready to compete yet. and she'd eagerly watched all of the women progress higher and higher, though her hopes for an all girl finale were dashed. but Lexi sees Ochako as great as she is and if she wants to become even greater? Lexi's more than willing to help in any way she can.

so has Lexi, Rue used to devour horror movies during their sleepovers, assuming Lexi would go along because she always went along with whatever Rue wanted. but left to her own devices, Lexi likes so bad they're hilarious movies and period pieces. lots of Jane Austen, lots of Bronte sisters. and the only videogames she'd ever played were the Dragon Age series, even though Inquisition made her hate-quit it mid-game, frustrated with all of the companions and lack of direction]

Then we won't watch anything scary, simple as that. Have you ever seen the version of "Pride and Prejudice" with Colin Firth? Young and handsome and [she gives a chef's kiss] perfect. Sci-fi works, too, so does fantasy. And [her ears perk to hear the murmured stuff] So do I. But not Madoka, I don't want to scar you for life. And three friends. That's the most I've ever heard anyone having.

[she met Bakugou. once. it did not go well]

[In all honesty, Ochako is still riding the high of her victory in the unarmed division of the tournament - it was a feat that brought her so much pride...considering her absolute defeat at the Sports Festival back home. Hilariously, it was against the person she honored by wearing his mask at the competition, because he was...unable to compete (much to his chagrin, of course). Bakugou, predictably, challenged her for the title the moment he heard about it, and though she agreed to fight him, they have yet to go all out...with quirks and everything. A real fight.]

Eeeh...n-no, those names don't ring a bell at all, s-sorry... We don't get very many American shows and movies broadcast in Japan very often, and if so...it's usually voiced over by Japanese actors and stuff. [And, if she can be honest? a LOT of American media just...isn't Ochako's flavor at all - even the genres she likes. The themes and courting rituals are just intensely different between western and eastern media that it's hard to adapt to the one you're not used to.] I've never heard of that one, is it bad?

Ah, well...those are just my friends. Out of the people here from my world...there's, um... [Ochako pauses, counting on her fingers.] Seven, altogether, excluding myself.

[Lexi noticed that no one was using any in-born powers or blood abilities during that and wondered if it was all by agreement or if everyone was being really sportsmanlike. the next time--if there's a next time and if she feels ready for it--she'll have to pay even more close attention to everything the others can do]

No, it's okay. And that makes sense--most Japanese stuff I've seen have been dubbed in English. I don't know why, I wouldn't mind subtitles, most of the stuff from other countries have them. [Regency might be okay? the romantic leads barely touching until married and most of the movies ending with the marriage] It's--it starts out as your usual magical girl series. And that's when it gets really violent and weird. I had no idea when I first started watching it and was totally blindsided.

Still, having friends from home has to be a relief. I'd love to have Cassie, my big sister, here. And my best friend from home, Rue.

[Nope, it was by the rules. No blood powers of given powers/abilities - just raw, brute strength, and any weapons one was especially good with (when it came to the Armed Division). It made things far more fair, and...p-probably a whole lot safer for the contestants, the viewers, and just...the arena itself. Given than Ochako and Deku were in the finals, had they been using their quirks...HOO BOYYY. The arena would have been in shambles. Toss in Bakugou and his Explosion quirk, if he were able to compete, and it would have been a war zone.]

Mm, it's probably hard, or more expensive, to translate or something...I'm not sure. It's the same here with anything overseas. [Especially oversea Heroes from America, Europe, Australia, all that sort of thing. Documentaries, interviews, books... Anything not on global news, or pirated on the web, was hard as heck to find.] Ooh, so it's one of those. Mm, I've come across those before, unfortunately, ehehe... No-Not a magical anime, but it seems innocent and cute and then it becomes, um...y'know.

[BODY HORROR, TONS OF BLOOD AND GORE, PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA, ALL THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU TURN TO JESUS, FR.]

Mm, it's great to have them, definitely. Back in the other world I was in, it was just me and Bakugou, so...getting to see Todoroki and and Deku again is amazing. I hope you get to see your family and friends again soon...it's real hard being away from them so long. [Ochako sighs. She misses her parents like crazy. It's been what, almost year now? Between the two worlds. Five months in Nippon, then another five in Trench. Yeah. Ugh...]

[she thinks she could managed unarmed. armed, though, that was not gonna happen. but the final match had been thrilling to watch, it gave her something to aspire to someday. of course, depending on how long she stays in Trench, but she hopes it's a long time. even with all of its weirdness, she fits in here better than in East Highland High]

Really? How do they handle musicals? Are the songs translated and dubbed, too? Because I can think of some musicals where I'd love to have that kind of soundtrack. [Les Mis, West Side Story, Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked,...had Hamilton made it to Japan?] Uh-huh. Yeah, absolutely one of those. I hate spoilers, but I almost have to do it to avoid situations like that again.

How long were the two of you in the other world? If it's okay for me to ask, it is kinda personal. [she misses her mom, too. Suze was kind of a garbage fire, but that didn't matter. Suze was her mom]

Musicals...ehh...we really don't get very many of those, as far as I know. Mostly the ones for little kids, and those are just translated as best they can do. Most of the overseas music isn't dubbed, and a bunch of middle school and even high school students sing English songs without know what the lyrics mean, ahaha!! I've done that before myself...and got really embarrassed when I did figure out what the words meant.

[Let's just say, it was a pretty vulgar song, but the beat and flow was tight, like most American music is. Though Ochako will listen, sing, and dance to anything, she does like J-Pop and K-Pop a lot. Really, anything to get her moving.]

Y-Yeah, ehehe...s'why I tend to make sure to check the ratings on shows now, m-more than ever. But nowadays I don't really have much time for sit-down shows and series. UA is really tough, and tack on all my extracurriculars and Work Study with Ryukyu-san and stuff...it's a lot. I'm drained most days. Maybe here, if stuff like that is available, but I dunno...

Oh, and, uh...five months? I think? Either four and a half or five, but we definitely celebrated Bakugou's birthday, which is at the later half of April...so I wanna say five. But a lot of stuff happened there that was, uh...p-pretty wild. Probably cuz it was our first experience being in another world and all. made it more of a shock.

Ohh, little kid musicals. Those aren't nearly as fun as the ones for...grown-ups, I guess? And I'm afraid to ask what the lyrics really meant.

[she listens to a lot of her mom's old CDs from the 90s. her mom wasn't using them anymore, so she figured they were there for the taking]

UA? What does that stand for? And wow, it sounds like you've got a lot going on. That would make it hard to get some personal time. I don't think I could keep up with that much stuff, I'm just now getting close to opening the bookstore I mentioned a long time ago.

I can get that. Adjusting to one other world is wild enough, I can't imagine being sent to two. What was that world like that was so wild? It's hard to picture anything more wild than Trench.

Ah...I-I actually like those a lot, myself. The little kid ones.

[Basically, things like Disney and the like - the oldschool musical films like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. Stuff like that were tons of fun, mostly because, well...Ochako is a kid. She may not be a young child, but she's really only sixteen still, no where near true adulthood.]

Mmh, from what I heard from Momo-chan, it's actually a play on words in my language. The Japanese word for 'Hero' we pronounce as eiyu, so the kanji for my school is just that, but inverted! It reads as yuuei, and thus...UA! Pretty neat, huh? Since UA is known globally as probably the best Hero Academy ever. The best of the best graduated from there!! Even All Might himself - the World's Greatest Hero, ehehe!!

He's one of my teachers now, actually. [Ochako beams, proudly, then sighs a little, wistful and longing, and not really talking more. Man...she misses them. Misses home. None of this at all would even be a thing if she never came to Trench. Nippon was one thing, but Trench...ugh. It makes her feel less like a Hero and more like a basket case sometimes. How funny that if given a choice, she'd readily go back to Nippon over any place like this, if she couldn't go home.]

Really? Like the Pixar ones? Those make sense, they explain a character's feelings or motivations through song and before you know it, you're crying. I know I did when Buzz first realized he was a toy. And there are so many new Disney and Pixar collaborations coming out that I've only seen teaser trailers for!

[Lexi thinks first of Pixar. the music, the growing reality of compute ration, the introduction to celebrities like Tom Hanks through the movies. and when Lexi left her homeworld, she was sixteen going on seventeen during Dorothea's month. which has her nervous. what on earth could Dorothea offer her?]

Oh! Oh, wow! That's amazing! Aren't plays on words and meanings the best? And I'll bet you're top of your class. Someone as strong as you and as dedicated as you? There's no failure. When it comes time to write our valedictorian speeches, we can ask each other for advice. And All Might? I don't think I've heard of him.

Great! Like being taught by Batman! [she understands what it's like to miss those from home, even though most of hers were her sister's friends. Rue was her friend and Jules was her girlfriend but she was never sure of where she stood with them. the last time they'd hung out together, the three of them, Rue and Jules abandoned her]
