Um. I think I've learned how to use my Darkblood powers.

The only question now is how do I turn them off?!

It's difficult at first, but once you get used to doing so, it becomes second nature to hold such a thing in your mind. I recommend a bit of meditation to help strengthen and keep your focus.

I've always had a hard time trying to meditate. My brain keeps going at a hundred miles and hour and it's tricky for me to shut it up.

That's not unusual. One of the many things I teach out of my home is meditation and a number of my students have had that trouble. Sometimes it's best not to suppress all that you are feeling at the moment. Instead, letting it all simply just be there on the surface can help.

Oh. Oh, I'd never thought of that before! That's brilliant! You said you give lessons, could I start taking them?

Of course. [Maul says unhesitatingly. He likes Lexi and that goes a long way in making his offer in the first place.] Lessons are held in the late morning and early afternoons at my home. I don't require compensation but will accept food and Legos in exchange.

[Yep, that's right, he said Legos.]

Thank you so much! I'll go with early afternoons, and Legos! Or food, I'm actually a pretty good cook, I've had to do it for mom and my sister for years.

That is far better than anything I am capable of in the kitchen.

[Maul's abilities start and stop with being able to get meat to a cooked state. Even then, sometimes being cooked is a negotiable state if he's really hungry.]

Mostly Zabraks eat meat. We're carnivorous in appetite. I have come to appreciate the food known as bacon in the time I've been here.

[Reaper had introduced him to them and it was love at first bite for Maul.]

Bacon...well, that'll work. I'll make a huge platter of bacon for you and your friends.

[though, Lexi herself can't eat it because of the whole Jewish thing]
