All right, if you're sure? I mean, mom was never particularly observant and Cassie never bothered. And my batcats are incredibly cuddly. Probably since I've had them since they were kittens, they've been handled a lot.

Yeahhh. I just wish that it was important to mom and Cassie. Mom has problems with her parents and blonde haired, blue eyed Cassie never cared 'cause she can pass.

They are. [and Lexi rolls over onto her back so she can cuddle Luz and the batcats at once. and in a kissy voice] Yes, they are. They're the bestest batkitties ever. [Nosferatmew and Mewnos...mew excitedly in response and burrow in to snuggle them both, butting their heads in for pets]

Luz chuckled, bringing the kitties and Lexi closer. She just felt more and more lucky she had them all in her life!

[all of that fascinated and thrilled Lexi as well. the idea that someone would find nerdy old her attractive was almost beyond imagining. but Luz was so bright, so funny, so smart, so brave, if she saw those traits in Lexi, maybe she had them after all? and the kissing, aforementioned, was great beyond words]

I do want to celebrate it right. I...I used to want to go over to my grandparents' house during the holidays. They were observant. Mom figured if the Christians could steal Christmas from the pagans, so could we. But that never seemed quite right to me. So celebrating with you would be perfect.

[Lexi figured that all gods were the same ones, only differently named. she didn't get why so many religions got into a 'my truth is truthier than your truth' pissing matches.

and yes, closer to Luz (and the kitties), that was where Lexi wanted to be]

[[OOC: the HP merch makes me want to barf given what we know of Rowling and the antisemitism and complete lack of understanding of Asian ancestries she gives in the books proper. and if what I've heard about her approach to Indigenous American ancestries in American wizarding schools are true, she and I need to have WORDS]]

[Luz would have chortled at Lexi calling herself nerdy, like it was a bad thing! It was the thing that had actually interested Luz most, and was something that she bragged about to other people about her to begin with! Luz found Lexi's brain one of her most attractive features, she was just also really pretty and sweet and strong too! Luz couldn't believe anyone would overlook that about Lexi].

Then we'll have it in the bookstore. I'll keep it open after hours, and we can celebrate it there with whoever wants to pop in, and maybe while they're enjoying the festivities, they can find a book they'd like to read too!

[Stealing Christmas? Bizarre. But such was the American complication with religion. Besides, at least now Luz could learn a little more about her girlfriends' spiritual path and celebrate it with her]!
