if so i hate to break this to you my dear but there are plenty of us around in possession of such pasts who have managed to learn to take responsibility for our own selves in the aftermath, without using other people as excuses for our own poor behavior

the last individual i knew who could not manage this was a literal eight year old

if maul is anything he is likewise a spoiled brat and you would do well to seek peace in building a better future for yourself in spite of it all, rather than remaining so mired in the past that you cannot move on and making a hobby of fouling up every other network post you see with whining about how unfair it is that everyone wishes you would stop bloody well murdering them at the slightest provocation

For the last time, you bunch of ignoramuses, it's a cultural name and normal to be named something fearsome like that when you're a Nightbrother. You don't see me making fun of people from Earth and their lack of creativity in naming every third person Peter or Mike or John, so enough of that.

[Maul takes great pride in his Nightbrother heritage and it makes him angry to hear someone besmirching the name his beloved mother gave him. Then again, Maul gets angry on a day ending in Y, so no real difference there.]

And for the most part yes. Though there are only so many warrior names one can come up with, after a generation or two they get recycled, though by that point most of the previous holders are dead.

Those are too long. By the time you call out someone's name on a hunt if it's "Disembowelment", that's exactly what a rancor will have done to them. Names like Daunt and Viscus are much quicker.

That's the whole point. Nightkin are a completely matriarchal society and they use the males as they see fit, mostly as warriors and bedmates. It's no surprise they give us animalistic names.
