It's strange. There was a lot I wanted to do before I turned twenty.

It doesn't feel wrong to have been brought here, but I wish I wasn't by myself. I remember wanting to spend today with people I cared about, but that's not possible anymore.

People tend to roll their eyes whenever a girl talks about her feelings in a vague way for everyone to read, but if I didn't say anything about today, I'd probably feel much worse.

Thank you. I wasn't really looking for any Happy Birthdays but, it's nice to read. I'm sure this feeling will pass the more I get used to this place.

Well. I guess it's more apt to say it is with those of us who were in the dream before this place. We uh- met a couple of doubles of people from home, sometimes ourselves- they tried to explain it to us. We're probably not dead.

[Varian finds comfort in it for his own, selfish reasons. It makes the choice of coming here to live a lot easier- a lot less like he's abandoned one home for another. ]

Yeah, you'll get used to it- which I don't know if that's comforting or not, honestly? But you deserve a happy birthday all the same- especially if you're brand new to this place. It's like the worst birthday present ever.

Well, this place feels way too real for it to be a dream. And I've had very realistic dreams before.

And...this really is the worst birthday I can remember having. I'm used to being independent and living on my own, but it's beginning to sink in how I'll never hear from my parents again.]

Oh, it's definitely not the dream anymore. It feels very different. It's kinda hard to explain. Like suddenly being awake when you were pretty much dozing without realising it before?

Yeah, sorry. I know it's a lot to deal with when you're new. Would me telling you that you get used to it help any? And you'll definitely make friends here who'll make it easier. Like...if you want it or not, people are obnoxiously clingy here.
