[The feed starts up, and people who have seen Dipper's ghost banishment post might recognize the backdrop of a messy bedroom and a desk full of books, notes, and dubious magic supplies.]

[It's the same serious looking 14-year-old from the last post, and it looks like he's about to address the network at large with something important-]

Okay, Trench, we need to talk.

[Only that is not the voice that usually comes from Dipper. The differences are now probably a little more apparent. Dipper's hair is up in a messy bun with several pens and pencils sticking out of it. She reaches up to grab one and it does not disturb her hair in the slightest. (How many are actually in there????). Dipper is definitely a girl suddenly, and does not seem to be bringing any attention to it.]

We've had some pretty big incidents over the past few weeks and they need to be addressed. I think it's safe to say that Corruption, with a capital "C", and Beasthood, similarly capitalized, have indisputable correlation.

[Dipper reaches up to scratch at something under her jaw and peels away ...a bit of flaking skin. She makes a face flicks it away. Bleh.]

And if we don't keep a closer eye on it, then we're not going to see an end to watching friends turn into monsters and having to put them down.

We need to brainstorm ideas for battling Corruption, and fast.

[Definitely could not be a Disciple who happened to overhear all of that and take an interest that ended him up in Gaze. For one thing, he was a shortass, and Illarion is most certainly not that.]

Yes--and it does not even need to be so intimate as speaking to them, if you find you are not yet trusting your heart to anyone. [Interesting definition of intimacy, given some of the other things Night Walkers are known for, but she actually means--] Many of them, they are skilled performers. To watch and listen to them is to be led out of yourself and join the world again.

As for Disciples, we have already spoken of incense and tea, which we might furnish. Beyond this, we may offer guidance when you have gone wrong with the gods, the universe, or those around you--confession and penance, sacrifice and mediation, these are some of the tools we may use. Though you should pick your Disciple with great care, for not all view corruption and its remedies the same way.

[She gives a low chuckle at that final question.]

A sacrifice of independence and casual neglect for yourself. Many Sleepers--stars bless them--treat themselves as things to be used to destruction, so long as their destruction benefits those they love. Others wish great privacy and freedom to do as they will, away from any who may object.

These traits, they are not all bad, nor should we wish to do away with them entire. But to avoid all corruption? You must live closely enough with others that they can help you when it begins, and you must not refuse that help when you know you have need, even if you do not feel deserving.
