[The feed starts up, and people who have seen Dipper's ghost banishment post might recognize the backdrop of a messy bedroom and a desk full of books, notes, and dubious magic supplies.]

[It's the same serious looking 14-year-old from the last post, and it looks like he's about to address the network at large with something important-]

Okay, Trench, we need to talk.

[Only that is not the voice that usually comes from Dipper. The differences are now probably a little more apparent. Dipper's hair is up in a messy bun with several pens and pencils sticking out of it. She reaches up to grab one and it does not disturb her hair in the slightest. (How many are actually in there????). Dipper is definitely a girl suddenly, and does not seem to be bringing any attention to it.]

We've had some pretty big incidents over the past few weeks and they need to be addressed. I think it's safe to say that Corruption, with a capital "C", and Beasthood, similarly capitalized, have indisputable correlation.

[Dipper reaches up to scratch at something under her jaw and peels away ...a bit of flaking skin. She makes a face flicks it away. Bleh.]

And if we don't keep a closer eye on it, then we're not going to see an end to watching friends turn into monsters and having to put them down.

We need to brainstorm ideas for battling Corruption, and fast.

[It was accompanied by a sigh of relief and a grateful smile from the bright eyed little wizard. The voice might not appear the same to others on the network, but everything else was eerily similar to the Oscar that the knew.

But you're right, there's definitely a correlation between the two and we've gotta get information. If stopping the Corruption process prevents Beasthood and disasters, we can save people a lot of heartache.

[Ah, there is a bashful but still somewhat guilty way she looks aside. She definitely thinks Ossi has a right to be more upset over what happened but, well, that was Ossi for you. Dipper considers herself very lucky, you see.]

I'm fine. I'm better, actually. I was able to get out of bed today.

[Which is not something she's been able to do since the incident. Small steps.]

Yeah, like the two had always seemed related in some way, but we really only had rumors to go by, or what we learned from the town itself. It's uh. I guess living through it was a remarkable source of information.

Actually, I believe the powers I have acquired in this place are uniquely suited for helping with corruption.

[Granted, he's only done it once, but with all these idiots running around getting corrupted day in and day out, he's got a lot more guinea pigs to test out on if Maul finds interest in this subject.]

Perhaps a certain number of Sleepers have similar abilities.

[Fern's reply isn't coming until he's actually back from the dead, but when he is, oh boy, does he have some fun information to share.

He does stare a little at the post and Dipper suddenly being a girl but heck, he got stuck as candy not too long ago, so he isn't thrown off that much.

When he replies he's still looking pretty tired, his grass a duller green than normal.]

Flynn's been talking about finding ways other than killing for a long time, and I've heard occasional stuff from other hunters, so this stuff ain't new. [He is endlessly grateful people were able to talk Varian down from his beast state. Endlessly.] I can tell you for sure what won't work, though.

[Oh holy shit it's Fern. Dipper is so glad to see him]

I've had a few ways I combat it, but obviously getting a blood minister helps.

Now that I think about it, we have a few Sleeper ones, don't we?

Blood ministry is an option, but that also means blood pollution is always a concern.

I'm hoping to find ways that don't need to rely on something like that.

Well, I don't have a clue what Faygo is, so hopefully it's not something that exists here! I'll keep an eye out for it, though.

What is it? Some kind of deadly poisonous plant? Sinister spell component?

Searching for some kind of medicinal cure is definitely not off the table. It strikes me that for something that affects everyone differently, there might be a scale of different effective remedies, you know?

It is extremely unwise to let your guard down. I cannot overstate how unwise it would be.

This place will chew you up and spit you out, all the while making your sort emotional baggage and coming to terms with your childhood trauma in a deeply disturbing and metaphorical way.

Incense seems a means of quelling the frenzy somewhat. There may be medicinal remedies to be found as blood ministration is less than ideal, given the nature of blood pollution.

Yeah, I have the same concerns about blood ministration.

For medicinal remedies, we haven't found anything super sure yet, but my sister has been working on tea blends for my family. It seems a little silly on paper but there is something oddly effective about it.

Hello. I don't think we've met, but I've seen you post before. Thank you for trying to help people so much. ( The fact that Dipper was a boy back then and is a girl now is something that kind of escapes him; Peter's memory for the details on people's names, faces, facts, is perpetually hazy and strange due to being,,,, extremely demonically possessed. Half the time he doesn't even know what day it is. )

Last month I was.... really Corrupted. It was bad. ( He frowns, a clear fear tightening in his eyes for a moment. )

I want to do everything I can to make sure it doesn't happen again. And... help other people not get Corrupted. But I don't really understand it much... Do you know what causes Corruption?

[Oh. Dipper is geniuinely taken back by the sincerity of that response. She almost isn't sure what to do about it. Being thanked for trying to help is especially potent, when she was so freshly out of an incident that had blown up so spectacularly in her face, all because she just wanted to help.]

[Dipper manages a small, grateful smile to that, and refrains from asking him if he was the mole-guy from that crazy bartender-rat-man's yard sale post.]

Just um. Just trying to do what I can to help us understand this place. If we don't share information, then it may as well be lost, right? We're all in this together.

I don't know if I know one-hundred percent, but it seems like what I've experienced, and what I've read and heard, it's a lot about your mental and emotional well being, and the blood pollution of this place seeps into it and makes everything worse.

[Anyone who's familiar with Illarion might notice his(?) voice is a little...different. Around the same depth but distinctly contralto rather than tenor.]

Well-observed. Corruption is the malady of heart and mind with beasthood as its final manifestation. [She's not going to be a cock about it like some people; not everyone had this as an area of particular interest...until it took them by surprise.]

Others have mentioned already many of the quick remedies--the mushrooms, tea, incense. The enduring ones--these require addressing the wounds in heart and mind that lead one to corruption in the first place. Night Walkers are reliable for this with talk and touch, and we Disciples might help unsnarl knots of guilt in the spirit.

Preventing it entire, this requires work and sacrifice all here might not agree to.

[Hm, does Dipper recognize that voice? She is not sure. It couldn't possibly remind her of a Disciple she saw in passing while panic!gathering supplies for an exorcism a few weeks ago. Nah.]

Night Walkers are something else I hadn't considered, though I do know vaguely what they do. If you've got no one to turn to in your immediate vicinity, or maybe if you're having a hard time being open to people you care about- which I know is a form of Corruption in itself, then Night Walkers really would make a nice alternative.

I've dealt with the Disciples a few times, though not for corruption reasons, what kind of stuff could you do to help?

[And that last bit seemed a little ominous. She is curious what this person might mean, though.]

That's actually a really interesting question! I can't confirm or deny that as a possibility, personally, but I've thought it over and I'll give you my thoughts:

When it happened to me, I actually did not recall hardly anything from the incident. I blacked out and woke up in a fish tank upon my revival. Before I was taken down by a friend, I was told I tried to kill my girlfriend and sister, both of which are things I'd never do willingly.

I can't say I learned much about my nature from the experience, having it told me second hand. HOWEVER.

I will say, in favor of your theory: I was also told I did some WILD stuff with my powers. Things I haven't been able to replicate since the incident. So, maybe you're onto something dude.

I have been able to contain beasts far stronger than that of corrupted individuals here.

If you are looking for a less-lethal method of containment perhaps my barriers may be of use.

Barriers, huh? Do you make them with magic, using some kind of ritual or circle? Or is it a kind of power you have?

I'm glad someone has brought up abilities like that, because if something happens again and someone turns, being able to stop Beastified person from wreaking havoc before we're able to help them could come in clutch.

A measure like that could also help convince hunters to stand by while we try to help before resorting on just taking them out.

What do you mean with corruption and beasthood? Is that a new thing that we need to be concerned about?

I wouldn't call it NEW, exactly. It seems to have come pre-baked with this world we're in, but we're still figuring stuff out.

You should definitely be concerned about it. Take it from me, as someone who had to get taken down by a friend because I turned into a horrible monster and tried to kill my sister and girlfriend!
